Humour always goes down well and whatever you think reflects your personality. Honestly, best just being you. Some people will go for it, others won't, don't overthink it really

I've found the best way to get responses (not guaranteed of course) but its to include something from their profile (shows you've actually read it) be polite, hold back on the 15 dick pics, basically talk to them as if you were to meet them in person and were actually interested in them rather than having an expectation of "this is a sex site so everyone's got to be desperate and grateful for everything they get". If you're not the sort of person for them, reply or not don't get all bent out of shape just accept their choice and move on

Manners maketh the man, also its a good idea to not say things in you're first message like send me 10 face pictures and meet me in 20 minutes

Ones from people I fancy - harsh/shallow as that seems, I ALWAYS look at pictures first, and I won't even open the message if there's no attraction. Of course, even if I like the pictures, the profile then has to not have anything to put me off before I get to the message reading stage.
