Always follow the Green Cross Code because I won't be there when you cross the road ...

I'll be in a galaxy far, far away - using the force, mind-probing my daughter and cutting my son's hand off.

RIP Dave Prowse.

I met him once when I was a kid and he appeared at a Holiday on Ice show at Wembley and he came as the Green Cross Code man. The friend I went with told me Prowse also played Darth Vader, which I didn't know.

I queued up to meet him and when I did he confirmed he did and told me when The Empire Strikes Back was due to be released. Luke

dontbefuckingnosey

I remember meeting him as a kid. We were visiting my cousin in hospital and he’d visited as the green cross code man.

He scared the bejesus out of me he was so tall! I hid under my cousins bed and when he bent down to say hello I screamed in his face!

My dad loves telling people that story

RIP Dave Prowse... I may have screamed at you but you were definitely my favourite anti-hero/villain as Darth Vader x

They didn’t use his face when he was unmasked either

When he acted he actually spoke the dialogue not knowing it was going to be dubbed over by James Earl Jones. I'd love to hear Vader's lines spoken in his Bristol accent...

"Shes part of the rebal alliance and a trator, now take her away m'dears"

Nice guy I always thought.

RIP Lord Vader...
