Depends what I'm using it for;

If I'm making garlic bread then ciabatta everytime

If I want to make a fancy sandwich then it's a baguette

They both have their merits.

A fresh crusty bagette is a thing of beauty...as long as it doesn't have too much middle...I prefer the outside to the inside.

A ciabatta on the other hand should be chewy and have an open texture...perfect for avo and a glug of olive oil.

Don't get me started on bagels though.
