Ok I've eaten quite a few different ones from different supermarkets and I have to say my favourite so far is the Asda one.

Maybe Mr Kipling makes exceedingly good cakes but his mince pies are rotten.

I don't like them. Pastry too hard and sugary. I like the buttery pastry that melts in your mouth.

I concur with this

I haven’t had one yet this year, I don’t allow myself that indulgence until 1st December.

I do admit they can be a little hard sometimes.

Every year in at work on December, a bunch of us would bring in mince pies from as many places as possible and rate them (usually get through about 30 different ones )

Asda and M&S usually came out on top

I'll miss doing that this year.

Tried the Asda extra special with salted caramel the other day, quite nice cold but thinking they maybe better warm with a dollop of thick cream. Looking forward to trying the black Forrest ones

Agreed op, Asda do make the best!

A bit of Devon custard on top of the Asda Special mince pie!

Then before you it eat to decide cold or heated in microwave? I went cold with a spoon of Nestles milk earlier Mmmmmm.

I prefer the thin ones from the bakery. I've got a box of Tesco deep fill ones which are nice though. Best are my dad's homemade but he refuses to make pastry anymore.

The Aldi extra special ones are quite nice. But you can't beat homemade ones, still warm from the oven with some double cream...drool.

I refuse to partake until December though, so a couple of days to wait yet

I have to say my favourite is Greggs.

They feel like a proper homemade mince pie. Add a nice hot latte and it's a treat and a half.
