It’s only hot if the woman likes being called it and it turns her on, obviously you need dialogue first, you just can’t just say it without testing the water first.

I’m not keen on it. I had a partner who kept calling me filthy slut and in the end I had to go nope we need to negotiate something else as I roll my eyes every time he said it. We have a Ds dynamic. I told him to call me fuck toy... I weirdly like that

This

Again as with other kinks we shouldn't judge those who like it.

I like to be called a slut whilst in bed as it's naughty.

But it doesn't mean I'm a 'slut' in real life

I see it a lot in people's statuses, "Where the sluts at?" and it makes me cringe. But I don't like terms like "cougar" or "milf" which get banded around older females. I just like sex and don't know why I have to fit into a category or wear a label because of that.

Again this falls down to interpretation and how different words have different meanings in the sex world.

It's a bit like the Daddy thread the other day.

A slut can be someone who shags 3 different people each day.

But for me, when I'm called a slut I interpret it as I'm a kinky fukka in bed who does dirty stuff.

The Town by The Cross

slut = an untidy woman or a woman who does not clean the home, someone who is 'dirty'.

The 'dirty' has become associated with sex.

Do I like the word NO.

It's not that I mind about it being derogatory , there's a place for it in some people's sex lives.

The reason I do not like it is the connotation that women who enjoy sex are deviant and dirty and that it's okay to mistreat 'sluts' or even that sex itself is dirty.

Labels like 'slut' give an excuse to the men who think it's okay to harm sex workers or put down women who openly admit to enjoying sex, especially if the man is rejected.

Context is everything.

There's a time and a place and there's an intent.

My first message from M every morning is "Good morning my lovely sexy slut" In this context it's fine.

If a first message from a total stranger was along the lines of "I'd love to f*ck a slut like you", it's not fine.

Does being on a swingers site mean I have to feel differently about a word than if I was on a cookery site?

With anything like this I always think a person should ask themselves "would I be ok with someone calling a much loved female relative a "slut", in any context?"

Slut is a perfectly acceptable word to use in certain circles. Language evolves and slut is one of the words that's been reclaimed over the years.

Much like 'queer' which used to be a derogatory term, but has been reclaimed by the gay community - slut is slowly becoming the same.

If you use a term enough as a positive, it will become just that. It's not even gender-specific anymore, and can and is used to describe men as well as women or anyone non-binary as well.

Fabswingers is full of people using these words as negative terms of abuse, but we have a responsibility to use them positively.

I don't like the word doesn't matter if I am on a swingers site or not.I personally find it derogatory and always find it ironic that guys think it's okay to call a woman it because they are on here but seem to conviently forget that they are on here as well so have no right to take the moral high ground.

I really don't like it at all.

Its derogatory and to me its used to belittle a woman who enjoys multiple partners and doesn't have an equivalent word for men who are never looked at in a bad way comparably.

I don’t like it when its used to described one's self either as a friend found out when she used it to describe herself to me once....she won't be doing it again thats for sure

The “context” of using it on a swinging site makes no difference. I absolutely hate it. Men often message me calling me a slut, I report them for abuse and block them. Are men who enjoy multiple partners referred to in such derogatory terms? No. So why should we be?
