Icing several times a day and rest is suggested. Perhaps physiotherapy or acupuncture might speed healing?

I can recommend buying a Tens unit - just bought one for sciatica on my leg. Helped more than painkillers. I bought one from Amazon - small round button that you stick on your skin with a big plaster type thing.

Used one for years works great
