I love Xmas dinner it’s the only bit of the whole thing I actually like , it’s that one time when no one will ever say “have you made enough!??” starter main and pud lol , usually go traditional with a turkey crown have a ham done too at this time of year usually .

Sprouts even though I’m not keen others like them , parsnips mash roasted pots etc ..... I’m starving now I’ve said that

My Dad used to cook pigs in blankets in the frying pan

Rather than roasties, he used to part boil potatoes and then finish them off in the fat from the pigs in blankets

They soaked up the fat and all the crispy bits from the pan

Hardly healthy, but fuck they tasted good

Will be spending this year in a refuge with about 150 others, butas many are idiots on lots of substances, with one kettle and microwave between us, a select few are going to buy a disposable bbq and spend lunch outside, with some mulled wine. Pointless trying for a traditional xmas meal, so go completely off piste!

Ahhh I can’t wait till Xmas dinner.

My mums ordered a turkey crown through her pubs suppliers, also got a nice shoulder of pork because I do superb crackling. I’ve personally got a stuffed crab as well and we have pigs in blankets from the Glamorgan pig farm where the pigs eat walnuts and other things that make them taste lovely and they have a lovely life (leading up to the abattoir day!) I’ve been down to see my pig that I’m having and she’s getting nice and plump.

I got red skin potatoes coming for my roasties. Love roasties. Will have lovely beef dripping from the butchers. All veg from the farmers shop.

Chocolate fudge cake, chocolate bomb cos no one likes Xmas pudding.

I can’t wait for my Christmas dinner.

It’s gonna be me my daughter, my mum, my sister and my best friend is coming as well cos she’s on her own, no kids.

I thought I'd ordered a turkey crown but when i picked it up today (frozen) it looks like a whole but small turkey !! I have a ham joint too. I will cook PIBs but i rarely eat them because they are usually smoked bacon which i don't like, i might make them myself though.

We all love roast lamb on crimbo day, I have gammon for boxing day and beef for new years day.

My son has requested an iced banana loaf cake for dessert on crimbo day, so I have bought little edible Xmas decorations to decorate the cake.

This crown was £15 I’ve seen some that cost over £25 and are massive. We’ve had big ones in the past and they just end up in a curry or sandwiches. Not a fan of turkey. I’m all about the pork. My sister wants chicken thighs as well but they’re like £2 in Asda and can just whack them in a tray.

Funniest thing was last year, my mum is not a cook at all, I do all the roast dinners. I gave her specific instructions how to start the turkey, how to wrap it in bacon etc. When I got to her house I looked in the oven and it was the crown with 3 pieces of streaky bacon just placed on the top practically burning to a cinder. I was like oh god, just go and drink your Gin in the living room

Last year I made a Christmas pie with mushrooms, chestnuts, cranberries and squash, it was bloody yum. Then all the roast lunch usual accompaniments. This year. I’m not sure. Probably some sort of root veg dauphinois. It has to be decadent

The only thing I miss about not eating the meat is turkey and stuffing sandwiches. But I make a mean vegetarian stuffing dish that is perfect in a sandwich.

All other food is largely based around making sure everything is eaten. Boxing Day is usually leftovers and jacket potatoes / salad and is very much a graze all day affair.

Christmas Eve I don’t usually cook. It’ll be something dead simple. Beans on toast for example. Don’t want to ruin the potential of 2 feasting days by not being hungry.

I love beef but I’m not confident with it. I’ve tried a few times over the years and with beautiful cuts as well, silver side and briskits, my auntie has tried to teach me and she puts water in the tray and stuff but mine never goes crumbly and juicy like hers. I’d love to have beef but for something like Xmas dinner I wouldn’t want that kind of pressure. Our turkey was fine, it just made me laugh! Her job is the swede and that’s it

My mother cooks Christmas Dinner and expects all of us in attendance. Turkey, sausages with bacon on them, roasted ghost carrots, some kind of meaty stuffing, she goes to town. I'm in charge of making deserts, well me and my brother. He's amazing at cooking but shit at 'man stuff' and I'm the total opposite so its like having a cooking lesson of my little brother.

If we have a starter it’s normally Parma ham and melon, so 70s but we like it

Main will be roast chicken or slow cooker beef, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, peas, carrots, leeks with bacon and chestnuts, Yorkshire puddings - it’s a mixture of what we like

Rare we have dessert as too full, I might have a slice of Christmas cake a couple of hours later or we’ll have some ice cream and fruit

I’ve never been bought up around all this mountains of food I see individuals buying

Main will be roast chicken or slow cooker beef, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, peas, carrots, leeks with bacon and chestnuts, Yorkshire puddings - it’s a mixture of what we like

Rare we have dessert as too full, I might have a slice of Christmas cake a couple of hours later or we’ll have some ice cream and fruit

I’ve never been bought up around all this mountains of food I see individuals buying "

I did beef in my slowcooker last year as we had a busy day visiting family then ate that when we got home

We're not hosting for Christmas dinner this year and I'm excited to not have to cater to various dietary requirements/wants.

We normally have a coffee in the morning, a glass of champagne mid morning and then something light if we're peckish - last year I did a fruit salad and smoothies.

So we're having herb roasted turkey, pigs in blankets, truffle macaroni cheese, roasted brussel sprouts with bacon lardons, sweet potato mash, roast potatoes, chanteray carrots with black garlic butter, cauliflower cheese, sweetcorn and petit pois. And I'm making a sloe gin cranberry sauce.

I want to do a beef Wellington as well but I also want to be able to fit into my nice clothes so it's a toughie.

Pudding wise neither of us like Christmas pudding so I'm going to bake a cake (flavour still being debated

). And then on Boxing Day I get to make leftover toasties and that's better than the main meal tbh.

Last year i was nightshift so only had toast but as i am off this year i will make an effort as my mum is coming to stay. Dinner will consist of frozen turkey crown, frozen roast potatoes, frozen sprouts, real carrots and a tray of M&S stuffing. As you can see i am no fancy cook but it will be enjoyable and edible and i will not be spending my day slaving over a cooker.

Growing up my mum did, Turkey, Pork, Beef and Gammon. Roast potatoes, boiled potatoes and mash potatoes with a mass of veggies etc, always the same packet soup for starters (big Irish family)

Nowadays it's at mine, we have goose, roast potatoes in goose fat, roast carrots and parsnips, sprouts and my sister makes a celeriac gratin (I hate it) plus other accompaniments. Sister also makes the starter usually fish. And we have birthday cake for dessert as it's sisters birthday Christmas day

I got red skin potatoes coming for my roasties. Love roasties. Will have lovely beef dripping from the butchers. All veg from the farmers shop.
