Thoughts on Relationship

Hello everyone! This is my first post hopefully to go forward with many. I am planning to write a book on relationship and looking forward for thoughts on what people think about relationships. I’m expecting more experienced to post what you liked or lacked in their life.

May I know what makes you think poly is a non conventional? Is it coz the society calls that way or have u made in ur mind if I may know

What sort of input are you specifically looking for?

Like how to have a successful one, what went wrong, or our personal views on relationships and if we want one etc?

Just wondering the direction of your book so I can maybes contribute something worthwhile for once.

The first thing I thought is not to have a definitive thought for the book. For eg to have non successful relationship doesn’t mean they have failed they have succeeded by not hurting each other. So I’m looking to know a general perspective of what people think about it and some feelings that they have deeply which may be influenced by society

I think (or at least in my life!) That our views on relationships change as we progress though life. The idea of romantic love is when we are younger, where we are more likely to idolise someone. and this slowly changes to a "companion" view of love where you seek someone to be with you during life's ups and down.

Just a quick early morning thought!

This applied to me and my wife. I was married for 7 years.

The last 2 years it was like I was living with a best friend, rather than my wife.

She felt the same way.

It wasn't down to my sexuality or anything like that, we always had a great sex life.

We just fell out of love with eachother, and saw eachother as friends.

We decided to separate so we could pursue our own lives rather than continue as we were and waste our lives.

It's was all very amicable, we are still friends now and speak regularly on the phone.

You hear so many stories of horrible breakups, affairs, issues when there are children.

I was lucky in this breakup, and I have a friend for life in her
