Misphonia

North West

The pouring of liquids on adverts e.g the BBC cup of tea thing between programmes, M&S ads for wine etc.

The horrific crunch made when the woman on the Magnum ad bites into the chocolate

The sound of "roast meat" on the radio ad for Bisto (my roasting chicken doesn't sound like that)

These sounds make me feel physically ill, like many people describe nails on a blackboard (which incidentally I don't mind!)

Am I weird?

Who else has similar issues?

Misophonia, yes, it's slightly better now I know what it is. Still to be recognised as a diagnosable condition, it's surprisingly common.

I temper it with memories of that woman biting into the Cadbury's Flake advert, or the Bounty girl adverts... Pure soft porn

Anyone eating noisily, anywhere, anytime!

It really irritates me to an unreasonable degree. I virtually had a breakdown in a Ramen bar in Tokyo!

I've definitely got a touch of misphonia.

I really can't stand crunching or chewing etc .. its not to bad if its on TV but if it's actually near me I have to move.

It's only noises from other people - especially my loud upstairs neighbour that constantly talks (shouts) I actually hate him.

The sound of his irritating voice makes me want to punch him.

I hate him so much that I would rather have someone next to me eating a bag of crisps with their mouth open

Now that is hatred

Haha. I annoy my poor children to stop making noises while they eat but it feels bad sometimes...

I also hate the sound of styrofoam crushing

It's on random radio adverts too. They take me by surprise in the commercial breaks

It's hard to explain, but the feeling of revulsion that some of these sounds provokes I feel in my bum. It's odd
