we state in our profile that donna wants white men only , we aren't being racist in anyway whatsoever its just our personal preference but we seem to have upset someone tonight just by them reading our profile , it says this in loads of peoples profiles on here , has anyone else had problems with none white men taking offence to this sort of thing

To me preference is a preference nothing more, nothing less. I can state in my profile I like men over 5 ft 8 only and that would be perfectly acceptable so I cant see the big deal in focussing on any other trait. My only caviat would be that the preference is stated as just that - and does not sound in anyway judgmental or racist, fat-ist, size-ist etc?

its normal..

just as people complain when people say no black guys, I'll show you a whole bunch of threads where people complain where they say no white guys...

or no asian guys...

or no large guys...

or no bi guys....

I'm afraid that the reaction says more about the person reading your profile than it does about you.

We are all entitled to freedom of choice and by setting out your stall in your profile, it avoids unwanted messages.

your profile

your choice

your preference

we all have them, are entitled to do so as long as we are polite etc..

we may look at sommeones profile for whom we are outside their age range etc, would not think to contact them to meet..

will say nice pictures or welcome to the site but thats it..

its about respecting and being courteous..

Some people love declaring themselves offended at every available opportunity. If we'd receive such a message I'd tell them to do one and then forget them.

You want what you want, and you have simply stated this. If the person who has taken offence to this then they ought to go and perhaps look at themselves in a mirror. Everyone has a preference for a reason, especially on a site such as this. I am more than sure that pretty much everyone will agree that you choose who you want to have fun with and don't let some jumped up dipstick dictate to you as to who you must play with.

You have our vote. xxxx

I dont think thats a nice question.

Good point you don't need to explain your reasons to anyone you have the right to choose to meet who you like and discount who you like as it says on your profile. Stick to your principles and don't let people bully you.

Just to add to this..It OFFENDS me when people start talking about having bad experiences with a particular group of ppl(regardless of race,sex)..I do not have to defend what I'am in any manner whatsoever but would like to point out I hate being generalized in any way.Leave ppls personal preferences as preferences that dont need to be discussed.

can opening doesnt suit the forums most times...this is another case of it.

absolutely totally correct, but is not in the least bit racist at all.

we were having a social meet last weekend, and, inclusive of the couple we were meeting, the only person in the entire pub to comment at Em was a black lad, early 20's, which actually leaned across me, and told her he thought she was hot.

At the end of the day we are all looking for fun and things are taken far too seriousley on here

theres enough hassle and too much emphasis on individuals being offended in our everyday lives we dont need that to be brought into fabs as well

and besides what we all do on here is very personal very intimate and so its to be expected that people especially the ladies WILL be choosy with their play partners

theres guys and girls of all shapes sizes ages race etc eto thats suit everyone so you just move on to someone else and have FUN

the point where "preference" becomes "generalisation"..... thats like some of the others and paddy said, you get my back up...

be that of a black man,

Firstly it wasn't directed at you but anyone tarring someone with the racist brush yet clearly displaying that they won't meet bi men on their profile or TV's could just as equally be accused of being homophobic. Its pretty obvious you are trying to stir up things and are trying to get people to say things. Week argument NOT its a valid comparison if you play by those rules.

Q.E.D. - you say YOU like women which is why you don't play with men. The OP doesn't find black men attractive which is why she doesn't want to play with them. Should she fuck a black man just to be politically correct and prove she isn't a racist?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Shhh, don't tell anyone but I never meet ginger men. I just didn't put it on my profile as I didn't want lots of comments from them accusing me of being a ginger-hater.

"we have a white female freind, who only meets black guys.

she is often accused of being racist,in reality she just finds them sexier.

so everything black and white is not racist.

though the paranoid, will always see a shadow,in every corner.

Too right people like to us big sticks to whack people who turn them down. I won't meet pissers and they really get uppity about it. "

They dont want to whack them they want to coerce them into fucking them. It could be described as a mild form of blackmail depending on how you look at it.

"Although I agree its your choice and that's fair enough .. What are your reasons for not wanting to talk to black men ? Genuine question .

from our pov, we arent interested in speaking with black guys because em doesnt find them sexy. maybe its skin colour, maybe its attitude (and 2 recent incidents support the latter) its her own choice and i support it.

With the best will in the world that is sort of racist. .. Skin colour.. And attitude.. Not all black men have bad attitudes..same as white men ..

absolutely totally correct, but is not in the least bit racist at all.

we were having a social meet last weekend, and, inclusive of the couple we were meeting, the only person in the entire pub to comment at Em was a black lad, early 20's, which actually leaned across me, and told her he thought she was hot.

lack of respect, and we have ignored plenty of white guys for the same reason.

That fact the lad was black has nothing to do with what he did .. The fact you bringing up his colour brings race into it ..

no, the fact that, on a quiet night out, the ONLY person that showed a lack of respect, to a woman having a meal, with her fella, and friends, was of colour, reinforced what she feels.

its not racist at all, its an opinion based on her own observations of the people she has interacted with in her life.

has no problem interacting with black people at al, just wouldnt be romantically, or sexually involved.

im almost certain that being racist means you wouldnt interact with certain people, no?

Never once did I say either of you were joining the BNP or kkk ect lol racism has levels in my opinion the fact you have said that you interact with black people as a why of saying your "cool" with black people speaks volumes lol"

yes, it speaks volumes of your opinion of the world.

you seem to be the typical lefty 'dont worry about being insulted as i'll be insulted on your behalf' type of bloke.

the same sort of person that stops calling christmas that because it insults others.

your an argumentative fool.

A few times yes

I used to have on my profile that i wasnt attracted to asian men, but i got quite a bit of mail off asian guys asking why etc

So i took it off and now if a asian guy mails me i just say to him sorry your not what im looking for

It would save his time if i still had it on my profile but lifes easier without it there

"by the way , i know this is a forum open to anything but i hope i haven't annoyed anyone by opening this so called "can of worms" up , it was a general question and didn't intend for it to end up in the way it has"

again READING POSTS WRONG!..

I never said the opening of this forum from the OP is wrong..what I'm saying IS wrong is some of the answers which are can opening.

again..is my screen that much different from other peoples...

my main issue was why someone had asked WHY u dont play with a specific type of man

another poster has said he doesnt know if a profile that says they dont play with blacks are racist or not...he said...... he wouldnt try to make the assumption, as he wouldnt try to get a meet from them.

I dont know where down the line his meaning was changed...but it has been.

some posters are just typing shit off the top of their heads in a reactionary fashion

my niece is in a wheelchair...she is my niece yes...but she is in a wheelchair.

thats nothing against disabled people.its stating a fact.to which the poster already remarked...aoter typ of man(maybe even a girl) would have been considered rude...as it was the bypassing of the posting male half that was the key issue.

are ppl again reading different lines from my screen???...so many getting defensive answers that werent actually asked.Only leads me to believe once again, ppl are dying for a long winded forum fight.

The only question to really answer to is that there is nothing wrong in stating a preference, or justifying it to anyone"

yes you are correct with your last sentence , thats what this discussion should be about

That's their business.

If I see a profile with this, I keep going. No point in asking them why as it won't change a thing. Some people are racist, some are not but it's a waste of my time and energy trying to find out which one they are.

do you suggest that a profile which infers no sexual attraction to black men is posted by racists then?"

As I said above...

"If I see a profile with this, I keep going. No point in asking them why as it won't change a thing. Some people are racist, some are not but it's a waste of my time and energy trying to find out which one they are."

There are some people here that will go as far as not playing with people who have played with black men.

The only reason why this topic saddens me is that I'm more than my skin tone. I didn't say in my statement that that if someone wasn't sexually attracted to me then they're racist, it's if I'm stereotyped for being a black male. But again, I'm not going to waste my time on the matter when I can find someone who just likes me as person.

It's quite simply really. There are some people in this world who don't see another person's colour and/or stereotypical features, and some who do and it forms the basis of an opinion about them.

The flip side of that is that are some people in this world who will take offence to that and make an issue of it, and there are others who will shrug it off and move onto something more worthy of their endeavours.

The trouble arises only when someone who does see another person's colour comes into contact with someone who's offended by it.

different coloured people look different, they have different features that makes a certain look attractive or not

Maybe its just a pysical attraction, maybe some people just arnt attracted to the distinctive look of some nationalities

but i agree we dont have to justify anything, if i read a profile that wanted women aged 18 to 30 only i wouldnt dream of mailing them and asking why

Oh I know what you mean. The "but" is always followed by I have a black friend, but I didn't get that from the op and their profile isn't the NO BLACKS!!!!!!!!!!! type profiles on here. Even if it was, their profile, their preference.

I say this all the time, but I struggle to understand why people get offended if they're excluded.

In my defense I never said anyone actually WAS a fuckwit, however read into what ya's like..I'm sure if people read back te whole thread properly, we might see some clarity.

*furthermore...I never seen any of the 'silly' stuff as offensive.what i did find offensive was trying to get a ris out of someone to make them appear to be 'racists', now thats where my previous comment came in about making urselves look like something as stated above.

If anyone feels I have offended them, just know it was more in general..and nothing aimed specifically at one person.

Genuine question . its just our personal preference , reasons.....? i (steve )don't get offended when profiles say fit men only, i'm not toned at all but i don't get offended by it as i just take it as its there choice and i wouldn't expect them to have to give a reason for it

But there has to be a reason or two why they don't like black men ? I'm not saying I think they have bad reasons just interested in why they are filtering a whole race of people .. ?

Why do you think people have to justify their preferences?

There a sense of entitlement displayed by SOME on this site. The amount of time wasted by people on those NOT interested in them.amazes me!

No one has to justify anything.. There free to not comment.. But its interesting when they do comment how there true feelings come to the surface.. I always find terms like " were not racist .. BUT !" Very amusing

Sorry i dont think its nice trying to get any more information thats personal.I wont belittle the OP or anyone else who chooses to have a preference that might not sit well with me or others.

Fishing for negativity is more lucky than fishing itself..no matter if u think its good to know who likes what for whatever reason.

I'm no forum troll, but some of the comments on this thread have been entirely ridiculous, especially with the readings of posts also(thats aimed generally).

No wonder some yas get urselves banned...throw in some childish responses and heypresto...uve made urselves look like fuckwits

You are just being offensive calling me and others fuckwits! Mr sensible you are not and no need to insult people "

I must be reading thing differently as the mad Scotty has tried to diffuse the comments on this thread, heading off at the pass those trying to turn it into a race thread when it's about preference.

Some of the comments have been a little daft in my opinion. However, I'd have used a different adjective but Paddy's comment was a general one in my opinion and not aimed at anyone.

As I said, that's how I read it, but I'm not spoiling for a fight...well chilled me!

My twopennorth...

It seems to me that people are missing the point completely. When we state preferences on profiles they are a best case preference and are based solely on what makes us go phwoarr and who we want to meet for sexual fun.

This is NOT about who we would meet for socialising.

My profile makes it clear that I don't want to meet women. Does this make me sexist? No, simply straight.

I also prefer men over 6 foot. Does this make me heightist? No, some of my best friends are short (couldn't resist that one ).

But if I am walking down the street and see someone walking towards me who gets my juices flowing he will probably be tall, fit, muscular, slim waisted with perky buns.

In my swinging life I have puzzled over why I am rarely attracted to black men when most of the men I have had relationships with have been black. I still haven't worked it out, but I have reached the conclusion that it's not that important.

If I were to refuse to talk to shorter men at clubs or to blank any women who smiled at me then I would be bigoted. But preferences in a playing partner are a world away from judging people by one aspect of them, be it colour, gender, sexual orientation or even gingerness.

it's a very sensitive issue obviously some carry persecution complexes and become angry and start tossing possibly inaccurate epithets at those defining a preference they fall outside off or some use their preference as a means to express prejudice toward certain ethnic groups..

That aside don't envision expressing a preference for a particular ethnicity provided it's done in a tactful manner to be the source of offense.

For me this is nothing to do with race at all and, as tends to be the case, when race comes into a debate rational thinking disappears.

What has happened here is the OP has laid out their profile to indicate to others what they like and don't like and therefore who they would (and by inference would NOT) like to contact them with about the POSSIBILITY of meeting. And then maybe, just maybe, having some sexual fun.

Someone else has then decided that people have no right to exclude them and then had the brass neck to challenge the OP to justify why not. "How very dare you not shag me. I am God's gift to women and you can't do this to me". No? watch this mate...

Therefore I feel the REAL problem is some guy with an ego the size of a house can't take a knockback even before one is handed out. Simples!

So it really is nowt to do with race and anyone has the right to lay their profile out however they choose within site rules and guidelines.

Ok I have now decided to change my preferences.

I will update my profile later.

I, with immediate effect, now prefer men, with only 1 ball and women, with a cup size of erm c (this week),

ball- ist and boob-ist here.... get over it

Next week I will only meet with people who have no eyebrows, the week after only people that have their nails painted yellow,

So those of you that do not qualify... which 'ism' do you want to label me with?

""I stand by every post and if people disagree more power to them lol.. You should look at there posts and then tell me that there isn't a level of racism .. The thread is called white preference for gods sake lol ..""

So the mere mention of the word 'white' is indicative of racist tendencies then?

You've been blathering on about racism on this thread as though black and white are the only things that matter irrespective of anything else (like someone's freedom to choose who they want to have sex with), and you see anyone who remotely references anything that doesn't have rainbow features as racist.

Here's the thing about racism though, it's always been a part of mankind's psyche and it always will be. It will never be eradicated so long as human beings are different from each other, and the only thing that's changed over the past 20 years or so is that it's been made a crime to openly and deliberately single someone out purely because of the colour of their skin.

...but no government anywhere will ever legislate that it's racist to turn someone down as a sexual partner because they are of a different ethnicity.

Have you read the whole of this thread or just the bits you feel like reading?

It started of as a couple wanting to ask the question was it ok to turn down a black man for sex??!!

the answer they got from the band wagan jumpers was yes its fine blah blah blah ...i asked the question what puts you off black men ??

the answers i got half way down the thread pointed out that it was skin colour....i.e race!!!

i whole heartedley support anyones right to choose what ever they want...but when someone disagrees take it just as that ...they disagree end of.

"the answers i got half way down the thread pointed out that it was skin colour....i.e race!!!"

Yes, you asked her why she didn't like black men and I'd wage that if she answered truthfully she be barraged with accusations of being a racist. So let's take an analytical look at why some people don't find people of other races sexually attractive. We're just talking about sex here, nothing more.

If it was purely down to skin colour then the OP would only shag people with milk bottle white skin, as anyone with a deep suntan would have a different skin colour to herself.

When we talk about 'race' it's not just about skin colour is it, as a person's skin colour doesn't neccessarily mean they are of a particular race - take albino negroids - are they considered to be white, or black? The answer is they have negroid features and so are negroes (negroid being the term used for one of the major racial groups of mankind). So is it the features of black people she doesn't find attractive, (a deep brown skin colour being one of those features)? Or do black people have a different body odour than white people that she doesn't like? (my experience is yes, it is different, not offensive (to me anyway), just different).

The word racist has been hijacked to categorise anyone who discriminates against another person based *purely* on the colour of that person's skin, but it doesn't include the genetic features of a particular race does it.

Well actually it didn't start out with a couple saying was it ok to turn down any guy for sex,...

It actually started off with a couple saying they'd stated a preference on their profile and soomeone had taken offence at that preference, their question was , had any other members had instances of this type of thing,... ?

There have been many threads around profiles requesting only certain things, asking why do people only want this why only that... The majority of posts to these threads suggest reasons why this might be the case,..

generally the consensus is its their choice...

Now if you're really wanting to understand why someone has preferences... ??? I've a question are you from Sydney university.???

to use the word racist to sensationalise someones sexual preference makes a joke of the term.

how can someone be racist if they dont openly shun other races in every part of their life?

is there such a thing as selective racism?

for me, a racist would have NOTHING to do with anyone of a diferent race, colour or creed.

would openly refuse to see an asian doctor

get served by an asian in a shop

work shoulder to shoulder with black people, and so on.

they would make an active decision NOT to integrate with people of a different race (as i know people that do)

so to say i dont find black/asian/eastern european people sexually attractive is hardly racist.

its just as not wanting to share a sexual experience with bi men

I would love to meet an islamic women of middle eastern origin. I love red heads and brunettes, blondes. I am not however attracted to black women, its just my own personal taste. And that is not racist in any shape or form.

Lol, I'm offended in that people think that the only race excluded here is 'black'

Us Asians are also a 'race', but seem to have been forgotten in this thread. I want to be excluded too.

In all seriousness, I've read somewhere above that if he read the 'no blacks' statement he simply moves on. This is my view too, and the best advice to offer anybody frustrated by the statement. I would rather meet ladies/ couples who don't see skin colour as a issue (sexually that is) so that we all get on when we meet.

It's all about preference.

That's because they didn't ...and didn't quote that they did I was mearly pointing out a common statement used by some people defending there view ..

No-one NEEDS to defend their own preference though! Thats why its CALLED preference!!

You stated earlier you prefer women, thats YOUR preference. The ops is white guys!!

In what universe does that make her racist?? That just means she has a PREFERENCE!!!

i never get it either, i state on my profile i only meet men that dont make me sexist because i dont meet women

Same as im not racist because i dont meet asian guy

I do not dislike women or asian guys, i get along with everyone and like people as a whole but that does not mean i want to fuck them

i do not pick my frirnds based on their sex or looks i do my sexual partners"

I don't see anything wrong with the statement as I don't get offended when I see black men only on couples profile which I do see alot! so therefore what's the harm when it states white men only???

I think colour has a lot to do with it in some cases.

I don't find really dark black folks attractive in the slightest, yet I find paler skinned or mixed race black / white unbelievably attractive.

To me, 1 is physically attractive, the other isn't.

It really is as simple as that.

Ive seen a few profiles where black women state they dont meet black guys

If choosing not to meet someone for sex based on their colour is racist how does that work, does that make the black women racist to people of her own skin colour or is it just a sexual preference?

Well that went well as usual

Please remember when you post not to get personal.

Now me talking.....

I have preferences on who I fancy, but we don't put who I don't want to fuck on the profile, we just say no thanks if a person who isn't my type mails us.

If a profile is getting lots of mails that you don't want or like, then maybe change how the profile is written, just a thought.

Racism laws whether statutary, moral or just politically correct have their root in enhancing fairness and equality.

Sexual attraction has little to do with fairness or equality, people simply should accept that personal sexual preference is a core human right which should never be policed.

It's a confused argument that attempts to make sexual preference an 'ism'.

As they say in Parliament: "Can I refer Honourable Members to the answer I gave earlier"

.... which, in summary, was that someone read the Ops profile, felt excluded, got the arse and took it upon themselves to actually CHALLENGE the OPs personal preferences as to who they wish to meet. Why? Because they have have a big ego. Simples!

The OP prefers people younger than me. Do I get the arse ? No. They prefer not to meet smokers. Is there a rant about 'smokerism'?. No. They prefer not to meet single ladies. Do they get accused of sexism? No. So why the racism bollocks? (sorry thats a technical term not used in Parlieament).

How this has developed into a racial thread beats me. It was simply someone not liking the preferences stated by the OP. Something they have every right to do IMHO.

I think the easiest and most politically correct way to sort this is to look at the demographics of the area that you live in and if, for example, it is made up of 10% Asian, 20% black and 70% white then you need to ensure that out of every 10 meets you fuck 1 Asian, 2 blacks and 7 whites. It's not rocket science people!

I hold strongly to the personal sexual preference argument. However the isms are about power dynamics. And beliefs. It is difficult to understand the subtleties of racism, sexism, ageism etc. unless you have experienced the prejudice and discrimination. When you do experience them, and regularly, it can sensitise you and, potentially, you lose the wider perspective.

Black on black racism exists and racism can be expressed in all sorts of ways. I include the 'I've always wanted an Indian ho' message as being racist alongside the 'you're not black enough' comments.

My ginger post about was tongue in cheek (am allergic to ginger as much as I love the taste of it) but was just saying that I don't feel the need to state No Gingers as my experience has been that encourages some people to send me messages asking why not and not accepting a simple no thank you.

I have had messages from white men and their profiles so no blacks - when I point out that I am black the most common response has been 'oops, thanks for your diplomatic response'.

You (one - not you specifically, for clarity) can continue to hold racist beliefs, that is your business, but how you behave towards others is everyone's business. That is what the anti-discrimination laws are saying in their simplest form.

As a wise woman on here has already said, concentrate on who you want to meet not those you have no interest in.

"Question:

As with the white people who state black only or white only it is about their preference and how they choose to write their profiles. There will be those of colour who might feel that she is indeed being racist and she may get comments about that. There is a rather ugly term that gets used sometimes, coconut (brown outside, white inside) that I have heard flung to those of us that have had white partners.

I'm an equal opportunities swinger - if I fancy the person, they are interested in me AND they have caught my imagination in some way then I will usually enjoy the encounter. I reject just as many white men as I do Indian, Afro Caribbean, African, mixed heritage etc. I've only had one Chinese person contact me on here so this would be an unfair sample to quote (not sure which smiley to use for that).

When I saw the title of this thread I assumed it was a race thread. I read the OP and decided it was a simple preference one and then checked back a couple of times. That's when I saw it become a race thread - no surprise, the title indicates it might be. The words we use, when and how we use them, all say something about us. How we read them and interpret say just as much.

i may be wrong, but surely if someone is racist, it would infect other parts of their lives, not just who gets into bed with them, no?

i actually appreciate your opinions more than most, Fab, because i dont think i have EVER read a post of yours that was more emotional than sensible.

Hi

well im an asian single lady and I have found that men from certain cultures just dont take no for an answer. I prefer white englishmen always have and always will and nothing will change that. Asian men are quite rude when I say no to them and well then i have to block them.

Its a royal pain as it clearly states my preference so why they feel the need to meassage me in the first place, I dont understand

glos

As this thread is within the public domain I would have thought it was unlawful to exclude any race openly for whatever reason, would it not be best to just say no thank you or block persistent messages as i indeed do saves alot of shit flying around too

"

again, difficult to have a victims mentality about something you have never been a victim of (similar to the missus telling me she was victimised travelling to the UK through the 80s and 90's)

it would be VERY easy to be offended by EVERYTHING that MAY have any slight undertone of being against someone else, whether it be race, colour or creed, but then we wouldnt get very far in life if we never did anything for fear of it maybe worrying someone else.

havent seen a single member on here that i would consider racist.

if you have then please do point them out, in a pm as you cant name and shame on here, and set me straight."

Do you really believe that people need to have a 'victims mentality' in order to understand basic issues around certain 'isms' and the impact they have on other people in society?

I have not stated or even suggested anyone on this thread is racist. If I felt otherwise I certainly wouldn't need to personal message anyone to make my case.

I'm clear in what I'm saying to you, when it comes to race issues I think you're naive based on what you have actually said on this thread. The attached post reaffirms my opinion.

"Racism laws whether statutary, moral or just politically correct have their root in enhancing fairness and equality.

Sexual attraction has little to do with fairness or equality, people simply should accept that personal sexual preference is a core human right which should never be policed.

It's a confused argument that attempts to make sexual preference an 'ism'.

i do actually think some people play the race card to make you feel guilty and almost try to emotionally black mail you into meeting them

Ive had this a few times and i think they know exactly what they are doing "

If we all went to watch a football match at Old Trafford and United were playing City then suddenly during play Ian Botham walked into the middle of the pitch with his cricket bat to start playing cricket he'd be told to stop and leave the pitch because he was trying to use a cricket bat during a football match.

Personal individual sexual preference is a completely different game with different rules to general equality and fairness issues within society as a whole.

Bringing the 'race card' to an individual sexual preference situation is like bringing a cricket bat to a football match. You're bringing it to the wrong game.

We just need to help people to understand the difference between cricket and football if you get my drift.....
