Before I left the wife, every morning I got up 20 mins before her alarm, let her dog out and made sure there was a hot coffee on the side ready for when she woke. After a few years I began to resent the fact that not once did she do the same for me. Its little gestures that show you care that make all the difference to me.

That’s much better than flowers. I’d have to pretend I was grateful receiving flowers and remember it’s the thought that counts.

The flowers were just used as symbolism, the closest plant to flowers I would appreciate receiving would be a cactus. But that would just made me think she thinks of me as a prick
