I would also bring back just how simple and uncomplicated everything was.

Playing outside, hopscotch, skipping, making mud pies, popping tar bubbles. Using your imagination and making up games, pretending to be a princess, ballet dancer, cowboy etc.

Oh and being able to leave your front door open and knowing all your neighbours.

I was about 10 when cancer cut a swathe through all of the family which we used to spend time with. We largely stopped traveling up to Liverpool (I grew up in Gloucester) and I distinctly remember life changing at that point.....

That still happens here......, my front door is never locked unless I'm in bed (and to be honest, I've forgotten many times and come down in the morning to find it unlocked)....friends and family knock and come in.... although there was the unfortunate incident when my mate came in unexpectedly as I was getting in the bath (top of the stairs, direct line of sight....) she's fine now, but the therapy has been hard work for her........

I'll add Saturday afternoon World of Sport wrestling with my Grandma her and us kids chanting at the telly "Easy, easy, easy......"

Oh and recording the Top 40 onto a cassette on Sunday evenings and trying to not get too much of Tommy Vance or whoever on the voiceover so you could get all the music on.....

Yes massively , I can't stand it, shop workers that put your change on the counter and don't say thanks .

People in traffic you give way to and don't say thanks

People who ask for things and don't say please .

Even people on here who respond to a message I've sent them with just a "face pic" no can I have a face picture please or thanks , puts me off them straight away.

Maybe I'm just a grumpy old man

Up4fun, I must be a grumpy old woman then cos I agree and also get very angry at people with no manners. As I child I would give up my seat on a bus automatically to an older person this never happens nowadays.

Surrey, my mum said same and instilled manners in me as I have done with my daughter. And I wouldn't have dared talk back to anyone older either, even if I was being told off!

My children have good manners too as they have been brought up to have them , which as a parent is your duty but many seem to forget what we havent and you wouldnt believe how many arguments and rows a week I get into with people who litter , they just eat something and throw the wrapper or can and them people have the cheek to moan about the rat population growing and there being rats everywhere
