Bad attitudes

Being a fab regular then taking a long break and rejoining with a new profile, one thing that really irks me is members with a bad attitude. A few familiar names continue to pop up and consistently rude on the forums....whats the need ? Were all here for the same reason, why the need to pull people down and make snide remarks. If anyone decides to have a different opinion its akin to a pack of wolves tearing apart fresh meat. C'mon guys... let's play nicely.

I can never tell if I go overboard with my jokes and daft replies.

Please everyone, if you ever think I need to reign it in a bit, I'd rather you message me and tell me, rather than me carrying on being the fool and annoying you.

You don’t annoy me. I like you.

I think your contributions are very positive overall, and even if you do annoy people, forget them!

It's much better to be yourself than a sanitised version everyone expects you to be

There are some who like to stir the pot. Whether that’s to be mean or just liven things up a bit who knows, but I think at the moment so many folk have a short fuse it doesn’t take much for drama to kick off.

I also think it's important we all play nice.

The site is ever growing and we don't want to put people off from contributing to the forum.

People need to realise that some words come across on a screen on your phone to what they would in person. And also having a thick skin helps on the forums.

For the most part text does not portray context or meaning, so if is down to the reader how they interpret a writing.

I tend to over use emojis as I know my writing style can be dry, which then makes me look disingenuous.

I own my cunty.

I'll debate my cunty.

I'll apologise from my heart if I'm wrong for being cunty

I like my cunty challenged.

However, if my cunty takes full form cunt, there's a grade A cunt on the other end.

But what is classed as rude? And does everybody class the same things as rude? It's very subjective.

I've been called rude and even nasty before now for posts on the forum...but many more people have messaged to say they enjoyed a post and to comment how reasoned and well thought out it was despite perhaps containing a contentious opinion.

I say live and let live - the mods are there to deal with anything against site rules. The rest of us mere mortals have the option to scroll past anything we don't like

When someone in reality has been starving all there lives and then suddenly they find a place where there ego gets fed by the torrent of begs and offers of cream.

Then that ego becomes a escape from reality and grows into a big bad beast.

Thing that we perceive to be rude we just ignore, there are a few people that 'WE' (not necessarily anyone else) find rather rude and a bit of a buzz kill on a regular basis.... But we tend to just quickly flick right past there comments. Modern technology is a wonderful thing where there comments are gone in just a swipe

Manchester (she/her)

It is. It'll never change. Some mistake debate for being torn apart or censorship, while others mistake tact and maturity for dishonesty or manipulation. Make the best of what you can and ignore the rest.

I've never noticed you being nasty or rude.

I've never posted anything with the intention of being nasty or rude, but I do often hold views that are in contrast to the general consensus. It's all down to how others perceive my posts, and unfortunately I have no control over that.

I know that i can be occasionally a bit... stressed? I do sometimes get wound up if i see people being intentionally horrible, particularly if the target is any of the minority groups that i am close to. Also i have been abrupt at times on threads involving scientific matters where it is a topic falling within my areas of expertise, when some rank their totally uninformed opinion above verifiable fact.

Mainly though i hope not to actually offend anyone - apart from the once in a while person who really, really, really deserves a good offending.

There's a tendency for people to pick on certain types of post and people. One person can start and others jump on, it becomes bullying, intimidating and very unpleasant.

Don’t think it will ever stop but just keep going and don’t let them grind you down
