Has anybody ever won anything decent from the lottery’s? This could be EuroMillions, 10k for life, National Lottery etc. Now Id consider a decent win to be a few hundred pound plus. Personally, I probably haven’t won anything over £10 and that was a long time ago And I consistently do the lottery weekly.

I know the odds are terrible, for instance I think the EuroMillions has a probability of 1 in 140 million, but still you’ve got to be in it to win it.

So what I’d like to know is has anybody won anything decent from the lottery, how much It was, what lottery ticket you purchased and finally your own opinion on the lottery.

Most I've ever won is around £150.

I do know someone who won a nine figure sum on the Euromillions though.

They seem happy..........

Won £1200 about 13/14 years ago for matching 5 numbers on the national lottery

Since then I've won nothing more than the very odd lucky dip

I know years ago my mum used to sometimes do the national lottery, always with the sane numbers but she wasn't religious about getting a ticket. Probably if she was in a shop with an outlet

Then one Saturday when she hadn't bothered to play sat and watched 5 of her numbers come up....

She hasn't bothered since

Yeah I’m exactly the same now, usually it’s something stupid like £1.80 or a lucky dip

Its actually really funny you mention this, because I also knew someone who did the same numbers for like 20 years and for some reason he didn’t buy a ticket on the day and his whole set of numbers came up

I always tried to do the lottery every week at least two different ones and for every line I do always pick a different set of numbers to try and give me the best chance possible.

I’m in the Royal Navy sports lottery- weekly draws and top prize is £5000. 15 years and I don’t know anyone that’s ever won even £50 on it.

Never won anything. Only do it if there's a special occasion like a birthday on the day and always use lucky dip numbers. Would hate for my numbers to come up on a week I didn't get a ticket like some have mentioned.

Not on the lottery itself, but won £500 on one of those £500 scratchcards a few months back. So technically it was the top prize. It’s a shame it couldn’t have been the big one.

Never really won anything to celebrate over. I tend to just do the euromils. The odds arent very good but then neither is the lotto one. To me if im going to play i'd rather put in the extra 50p and win a greater amount for it - Go big or go home.

Anybody that does the Euromillions, National lottery, or anything to do with greedy Camelot must be mad.

I stopped after they doubled the stake from £1 a line to £2. Now I gather the numbers go up to 60!!!

Do the Irish instead, only £1 a line and numbers up to 47. I've had loads of wins!

Interesting how few people in this thread know of any big winners. As I understood it, lotteries tend to be successful with big sales when players start hearing of winners, Jim down the street with his new Ferrari etc.

Doesn’t seem to happen now and hence sales are down.

To make you feel better....

You have more chance of winning the lottery twice in a month than any current youth team footballer in U.K. ever playing 1 minute of premier league football.
