How long is your fuse?

And no, thats not code for how big is your cock!

Mine used to be shorter than me, and I'm short! But having had recent provocation I have realised that as I have gotten older my fuse has gotten much longer, to the point I'm not even sure if I have one anymore and refuse to be drawn in or react.

Delightful Bliss

I've always had a long fuse, the only thing I have a one second fuse on is if someone is being intentionally physically hurt (ie a fight) I am wading in on that one as soon as I hear those sounds

My fuse was so short it didn't take much. But since having my son and this year i have found its gotten longer. Still have one but takes alot more to light it and if it is alight then the explosion is less likely to happen

I totally agree, I still have a fast blow fuse with anything to do with bullying, racism, people being assaulted or physically threatened, but the day to day stuff like rudeness, a sense of entitlement or general criticism its water off a ducks back now.

Same. Having my son lengthened my fuse considerably. It used to be a nano-fuse

Been there my friend, until my early 30's i dont even think I had a fuse, I was hard wired to earth and my head was always on fire over the smallest of things. Little people definatley change our perspective on life.

North East Scotland, mostly

Most of the time, pretty long.

When my kids are bickering, about the length of a gnat's winky.

A hell of a lot longer than it used to be...certain things can still make me go from nought to "you really don't want to push that particular button" in a split second though

I've got several fuses that are deployed in various situations. Some of them are extremely short and smoulder all the time. Others are frozen and miles long with a variation in between

I agree, but yesterday something happened that should of blown my fuse instantly, and I was shocked it didn't, although around 10 hours later whilst alone it went pop, thats what got me wondering about others and how time and age change things for us all.

How are your fuses at work? I used to have a very short one for general incompetence but now I just let it slide, anything bullying or deliberately breaching safety and you are off site in a second with my words still ringing in your ears!

Mine is extra long these days, I mainly let things slide as I can't be bothered with the hassle anymore.

Dknt get me wrong it's still there when needed!

I'm really good natured and rarely lose my cool

That said, I don't take shit off people

If someone is being an arse, they can have a bit back

No raised voices, just a look and a change in tone

I know when to leave things alone too, if someone is getting het up

You can always re-visit them again at a later date

Depends on the arsehole playing with the wires. Sometimes long - sometimes short

My tolerance can be pretty non existent with some people. I don't think anyone should have to tolerate shit from anyone else. Especially in a work environment

Self control is strength......

Calmness is mastery.

Your mood should not shift based on the insignificant actions of somebody else.

I’m quite laid back generally but when I’m having my hormonal time I’m a right crabby mare.

My patience is used up on my youngest who has ASD as he has endless quirks and then my eldest, so everyone else gets short shrift.

But what happens when you are physically attacked by a member of the fairer sex? I was attacked yesterday by a white collar boxing, MMA fighting gym instructor for no reason other than im in process of divorcing her sister. I took the blows and refused to defend myself, and considering i served a decade in the military, am still in fighting shape and out brain her 10-1 the fuse never went, I'm so pleased I didn't, im trained to remove the threat where there is a threat to human life. I won't lie and say her blows weren't painful, they were, but I didn't react. Im quite proud of myself although now im angry and wished I'd of done something to make her think twice about doing it again in the future.

I think a lot of the time, people do things because they want a reaction. She didn't get one, so that would flatten her more than having additional fuel to feed her anger.

Well done for your self control, I say.

My fuse is infinite in length. Though sometime it takes some effort.

Reacting because someone has tried to push your buttons, or goad you into reacting is losing control. I don’t like to lose control.

However... noisy chewers, that’s another story.

Its time for them all to well and truly fuck right off

I have no time for insecure, fucked up men that think its ok to bully women

Its not ok

Its really not

Very much the same, I like to be in control without being domineering, and don't force my views on others, some people just think they are god though.

I don't work any more, I was removed from site for breaching safety rules with someone shouting in my ears .

Seriously though, I genuinely don't work any more but like you general incompetence I let slide unless I was directly responsible for the person. Bullying, rank stupidity etc I had zero tolerance for and still do.

Pretty chilled most of the time, anger is a wasted energy, if I can't fix it then it bothers me not.

If I am tired or poorly then I am beyond irritable. I tend to withdraw then so nobody has to bear it.

Manchester (she/her)

Either really short or really long. No middle ground at all. Forgiving doormat or psycho bitch.

Although definitely a category of "huh, that's cute you imagine I give a fuck"
