I decided to return to celibacy for this year as I had neither lots of sex nor good sex.

Ideally, I'd have regular good sex. But, each sexually encounter is it's own special occasion and you can't guarantee every one will be good.

Interesting point, got me thinking? If you indulge in some DIY pleasuring can you still maintain celibacy? Not aimed at you directly poster, more a general question.

For different reasons I made the same decision during the pandemic. I’d like regular good sex too but other things are more important.

No. I don't believe one has maintained celibacy if masturbating. I have failed to be celibate this year as I found my stress response to this pandemic, and the work I was doing at the height of the first lockdown, was to seek comfort in masturbation.

The problem with masturbating, for me, is that it stimulates my sex drive and I want sex with a man with a very hard penis. And that is unobtainable.
