When I was in my twenties I distinctly remember thinking sex was alright but sport and beer were at a similar level

and it would be a dilemma if there was a choice.

So basically what I'm saying is since I hit the mid forties my sex drive has increased massively!

What the bloody hell is going on, shouldn't it be the other way round? Anyone else in a similar position?

I'd say from being 36 to being 43/44 I was a bit of a bugger

My sex drive has really slowed down now, but still creeps up and surprises me from time to time

I still have very fond memories to smirk at in my head and I regret none of it

Well, maybe the guy with the fish tanks, but that's a story for another time

Mines always been high and it's hard to gauge when it was at its peak but it certainly feels ridiculously high at the moment and I'm nearly 50..I am young at heart though

Hubby is 54 it doesn't go away. If you stay in shape the drive is always there. That's just my perspective.

With the lockdown and all that and after spending a long time with someone who would use sex as a weapon, Im not bothered about it at the moment. Don’t get me wrong I love having sex and all things associated but the drive isn’t there right now. I’m nearly 40 so it will probably come back, probably need to meet someone who makes me feel alive again.

Many many years without sex have conditioned my sex drive. It has no muscle memory and rarely anticipates but it is readily available when the moment requires it.

I've seen threads and status updates since March about people being horny and frustrated but in my mind it's just a minor blip.

I think being more happier with yourself as you mature has a lot to do with the increase in drive. I know mine has increased as the years have gone on. I’m dreading when it gives up - put me in a padded cell!

My sex drive was impacted upon during my 20's and 30's by marriage problems, 8 years of fertility treatment, raising children and my chosen career path.

But since my late 30's and definitely my 40's my life is much more settled, my relationship is heavenly, my career is successful and my kids are happy, healthy and almost independent of me.

This has all contributed to me giving myself time to focus on myself, to make healthier lifestyle choices, to try sports and enjoy a zest for life. That brings me self confidence and with that sexual desires and an appetite for sexual fulfillment.

Mine has always been strong however over the last 10 years I’ve learned to switch it on and off, so I can manage long periods of celibacy. I coped less well with enforced celibacy when I was younger.
