They are becoming more than just a petrol station and a McDonald’s. Some have shopping areas and hotels so I don’t see why not.

You get to hours free. Maybe you issuse is more to do with time management? After all shouldn't be a problem to find 5 minutes needed if your organised.

Generally well lit, full of CCTV and eagle eyed punters who may be jealous. If they have wooded spots etc, it could offer some cover.

The best thing is that most of them are in the countryside, so you can leave them and find a quiet spot. Or check in to the hotel. Some have had gloryholes over the years but they are rarer now

My favourite service station is Gretna Green, not for socials or any thing suchlike, but because they have a Harry Ramsden and a Krispy Kreme doughnut machine

The hotels are very convenient.

There was a period when Travelodge did a lot of £5/£10 rooms. Them were good times!
