Hey, all sorts of strange goes on in fab, best to have no expectations and take it lightly. I had a couple who we exchanged a few lovely messages back and forth, I received a nice complimentary message back and when I went to reply I was blocked.. didn't make any sense at all to me! I just found it amusing..

In fairness, I suspect it was your tone. She may not have meant it as witty remark in her profile hence didn't see the humour in what you were saying.

Then to say "id rather chat first since you dont do immediate meets"; do you see how it could have been misconstrued if she had already not seen the humour in the first place?

What happens if someone blocks? How do you know if you've been blocked. Is it that you can no longer see their profile?

i know what you mean, but then again, in her profile she mentions it in cap blocks, so i wasnt sure if was being funny or not. I didnt mean to be rude with my reply but its done now..cant go back.

as soon as i reply, it just said you cant reply as the person has blocked you, so you wont be able to see their profile

im sure there are other people willing to give this poor bengali lad a chance

Yes you can no longer view their profile or be able to find them on searches. I think your message conversation also disappears aswell?

Of course they will. You plough on.

I hope you didn't take what I said as criticism. I merely thought I'd play Devil's advocate by pointing out what the other party might've seen. Blocking someone sounds extreme but to each, her own.

It's very hard to read someone's tone sometimes. If you're unsure, I would advise that you approach with respect rather than humour. Seeing as she had put it in capitals, it would intonate that it's an important point to her. Perhaps something along the lines of respecting her view on it would have been more helpful to you.

What do I know? I'm just an old codger using old world (real world) behaviour because I've never used social media and this is about as active as I've ever been in one. I'm not entirely sure that the internet applies the same rules.

Goodness, it is extreme. I suppose it's different for women. It seems they can get abusive replies when they don't reply or people who won't stop messaging them again.

Men don't walk in their shoes but I can understand why they do it. It saves them so much hassle and I can imagine, hurt as well. How unpleasant to be receiving 'hate mail' simply because you don't reply to someone and then multiply that by I don't know what factor, day in, day out.

If a girl blocks you, try to bear that in mind and don't take offence at it. Plough on and hone your skill at breaking the ice here.

I misunderstood the statement earlier.

OP, the first reply is already a rejection.

So, it's ok to just stop or if you want to reply, with a simple, "OK, thanks anyway" for instance.

If you keep pushing, I don't blame people for blocking (especially F or MF who might get tens and hundreds of messages a day)

Yes, as she said, just a thank you is enough. She was kind enough to reply in the first place with a polite 'no thank you' but if she replied and then blocked you so that you couldn't even reply with that, then understand that she has had many abusive replies before and simply didn't want to risk another.

I see quite a number of men getting upset over this point. It's very disquieting. I hope you can understand better now and can pass it on when you come across threads that make out a woman is a witch because she does this.

I don't believe she would have been as 'rude' in the real world and you wouldn't have taken offence because body language is at play there. Here, we can only go by words and that is very hard to read sometimes. In fact, it probably goes against her very nature to do it but a few rotten apples have ruined the experience for her to the point where she needs to be as ruthless back.

I sincerely believe that.

"Yeah agreed...i blame those rotten apples on this site."

If a dog bites back, blame the owner for constantly hitting it. We need to change the thinking of these men who come up with these threads and rant in them. I understand their anger and frustration but anger begets anger and both sides end up behaving like animals with each other.

It would have been so much nicer for her to have received your reply to simply thank her as well and part in that manner, like in the real world but she can't even have that.

I hope we've given you pause for thought in this matter and you will help pass it along.

See it a positive. She sounds rude and ranty. You sound happy and cheerful.

You're not compatible with each other so it's a good thing that you won't be wasting time talking to her.

The artist formerly known as Steve will no longer be performing on Fab.

As StV's recently appointed agent, I would just like to point out his latest works ("Hi" and "Yo Babe") will be performed by StV in a one-man retrospective currently touring Britains dogging hotspots.
