Delightful Bliss

Im not sure how much willpower you have WD...

Thats my motivation. I am stubborn and bloody minded when I have a big goal in sight and I am going to do it.

9 years ago I managed to pack in smoking in one day after 20 years of 10 a day

Thats just my way of doing it though, one rule doesn't work for everyone

You can do it WD, lockdown has been a strain on so many, and it's very difficult to stick to routines etc. You clearly have the will to do it as you stated before. Maybe try plan a schedule and plan meals? Very hard I know with work and kids, but I'm sure you will work something out.

Tough one...so easy to pick at crap when you're bored!

For me, exercise is the best way. I pretty much eat what I like but exercising burns it off. I'm not a gym junkie by any means but find running and cycling work wonders.

Try the couch2 5k if you can handle running. Free app...starts easy with walking etc and then build up.

Best way to lose weight is to change your diet, you have to exercise a lot to burn off excessive calories, someone like you would need to run for an hour to burn off maybe 500 calories, that’s about a doughnut.

WD first of all I totally understand the vicious circle of bad habits from being an emotional eater myself.

About 7 years ago I started making improvements to my eating and introducing exercise to my routine and in a year I lost over 4 stone, and then 2 years ago I identified that I needed to make further changes and I have lost a further 2 stone.

I can still be that emotional eater that I always was but now I cant eat as much as I used to, and I don't buy the bad treats unless as a once a month treat for everyone and I exercise LOTS.

Now as you probably now I am a runner but I wouldn't recommend running quite yet. I would recommend walking, you will burn just as many calories as a run over the same distance and it gives your body a chance to adjust to a new activity as you lose weight. Plus, you need to enjoy the activity otherwise you won't stick to it.

You have a few children, why not get them onboard to help dad and whilst you're power walking they could be timing you whilst at home (if old enough to be left at home alone), or out cycling as you walk, you could set up an obstacle course out the garden and include the kids for fun... all these things I did and my kids now support me with my running training and attend events as my support team... which means the world to me.

Whatever you chose to do it has to be your decision but people are always around to support you... best of luck but most importantly enjoy and be happy on the journey or else the vicious circle begins again.

Her x

It's all about diet.

I've always struggled with my weight - but have recently lost 32lbs over the last 5 months through diet and a small amount of exercise.

I cycle a few times a week - mostly on the pavement and not in lycra

And I try and walk an hour a day but life happens and sometimes I don't.

I've been calorie counting and giving myself a food cut off time in the evening.

I indulge at weekends and don't cut calories too drastically mid week.

I'd still like to lose another 40lbs ish.

It's all about what is sustainable for you.

Good luck

Howdy brother.

Like you I need to shift some extra weight as well.. Also a result of working from home.

Want to get back to my original heathy weight of 12st.

A few weeks ago weweeks ago I was 14st 1.

I just cut out crap, increased activity. 7k brisk walk/jog every night.

Intake 2litres of water daily.

Reducing portion sizes was the main one though. Now I wake up hungry, before I didn't.

Subbed white bread for brown, 1 slice a day max.

It was all habits that needed to be broken as well (the sneaky 2 finger kit Kats with coffee) now it's just coffee.

Everyone's metabolism is different, so obviously it won't be one size fits all.

Best of luck, be happy to go the journey with you for motivation.
