What has fab taught you?

I think we all learn a thing or two on fab over time...

My biggest learning curve was that I had to stop being so polite all the time.

I used to try to message EVERYONE back, even if it was to say thanks but no thanks, or answer a question, or say thank you for a compliment. Just my nature to reply if somebody had taken the time to message me.

I have stopped doing this now, because even a 'thanks but no thanks' seems to come across as an invitation to start a full blown conversation - which I then have to go through the rigmarole of ending if they are miles away or not what I am looking for etc.

I feel SOOOO rude deleting messages without replying, but it really is the lesser or two evils in most cases. Has definitely been a valuable lesson though and less hassle.

I learned to block people I have no chance with.

Seeing regular updates and pictures was demoralising.

Better experience now.

Honestly, in 13 years, the biggest thing I've learned is to just be me. I used to try and dull myself down for others but through meeting people within the lifestyle/scene I've learned that actually, the people meant for me will love me as I am.

Similar to the body confidence post but I've learned how to take decent pictures of myself that paint me in a good light. I can't say I ever took body pics or selfies before joining here so it's been a great experience.

My tongue was slightly in my cheek but I do think it can be equally applied to both genders - there are plenty of men and women who fit that description, but there are also plenty on both sides who are not quite the picture they'd have you believe

I think what I've learnt is keep your standards high, don't get drawn in the mid with those who like to poay there and have thick skin and don't take things personally.

Take everything a person says with a pinch of salt but don't lose faith - I've met some incredible people over the years.
