Does it matter to most people?

Or is it more of a connection thing for you?

Height doesn't matter a jot to me, personally. I don't really understand it when people have a height attraction limit, how a few inches can totally put you off someone. Tbh it just feeds into stereotypes that piss me off; men feeling inadequate if women are taller than them, because women should be petite weak flowers, or women hating on short guys because 'real men' are tall like alpha protectors. Hard eye roll.

Personally, meeting a taller man is nicer but not a must.

I've met shorter men as long as they are fit.

.

As an asian (south east asia), we were brought up with the believe that we are small and weak and europeans are tall and strong. I'm rather surprised when I first arrived in Uk/Europe, that many are not as tall as I used to think.

I think, to a degree, there's quite a bit of bandwagon attraction on this site

Over the years, an image of a perfect guy and a perfect meet has been established and that is the standard that most guys should look towards

In reality, very few do

Most get by on good luck, charm, good humour, personality and carefully crafted images

I also think if you listen to majority verdicts on the forums you set yourself up to fail

I'm only 5'6 but I find it works well. Many newer couples like to keep the dynamic of their male being the Alpha and able to protect the Mrs if it all goes tits up. So a couple with a 5'10" male subconsciously look for a shorter male for MFM.

It is part of the fantasy for some women. I’m 5’9” and although it has automatically put me outside the bracket for some women, it wasn’t always a deal breaker with those with ‘tall’ preferences.

In a couple of occasions it got overlooked

Yeah, Asian men are smaller so I'm used to shorter guys, tho I'm only 165cm (5'4" old money) meself.

I used to *LIMIT* myself to guys 5'7" or taller on account of the fact I love heels and he'll still got to be taller than I am.

But I've met and now totally in love with a guy who is same height as me! And we really do see eye-to-eye on many things in life!

I don't think I'd go over 6ft again.

It's not true what they say at all ("we're all the same height lying down") and it really can make things awkward.

I didn't have the option to just walk over to my ex, stand on my tip toes and kiss him, nope, I could only do random kisses when he was sat down or if there was something for me to stand on.

I love taller men, not just taller than me (I am 4'11") but like 6'3"+.

It probably has a little to do with my personal kinks etc, and they are really handy when I can't reach things that are up high.

I've no problem with shorter guys and have dated people of all heights, but I am just a sucker for that height!! It is too easy to screen meticulously online, and have found that I am more open to conversations with a wider range of people in person - which is why socials and clubs were great before covid. So yes, height is important to me, but there is so much more to it.

Personal preference is just that, same as some guys won't go near a woman who is under a dress size 18, or has bigger tits than a D cup, why some prefer blondes and others prefer dark hair

Own your self, your height, your body and aesthetic and be confident that you are you. There is probably somebody out there knocking one out with you in mind.

I definitely like tall guys.

Or at the very least, a few inches taller than me - I'm 5'3" and a bit.

I once arranged to meet a guy in a pub. He said he was 5'4", so I wore flats. When I arrived, he was barely 5'1" and said if he'd told the truth I wouldn't have met him.

I know assume that any guy less than 5'8" egagerates their height.

Be that as it may, then at least admit the true height before meeting and not surprise her once they meet. I can't imagine what would be more off-putting. If she likes you enough to agree to meet for a drink, surely it must say something about how she likes you beyond how tall you are.

No, not all do. I don't because I'm comfortable with it and it's not something I can help.

Good for you. But most shorter guys do lie....xx

Possibly because a lot of women regard shorter guys as swinging & sexual pariahs?

Be that as it may, then at least admit the true height before meeting and not surprise her once they meet. I can't imagine what would be more off-putting. If she likes you enough to agree to meet for a drink, surely it must say something about how she likes you beyond how tall you are."

Thank you. X

"I do like guys to be my height or taller generally, but have been attracted to and fucked guys a little shorter than me. "

This tbh.

If I’m going to a club with a chap - or an evening out somewhere ‘nice’ - then I wear heels - which make me nearly 6ft in height.

On those instances I’d prefer it if I’m not having to look right down to see the guy’s face - or snog the guy’s face! For that reason I tend to go for guys at least a little taller than me. Sorry if that comes across as shallow.

Everyone likes what they like and not really a problem for me if someone says ur not my type because I say the same to women

Height is as important as body shape is it not? Yes you need to hit the right vibe with someone but you also have to be sexually excited and that boils down to physical attraction too.

It's not just your preference though is it?,

It is something that is covered time and again on these forums and it seems to be a preference for a lot of women

As the average height of a man in the UK is 5ft10, people insisting on 6ft+ are asking for above average men

That rules a hell of a lot of guys out

So, whilst I don't agree, I can see the temptation to be disingenuous, be it shorty bums or guys who are 5ft10 who pertain to be 6ft

For me, personally, I've never had an issue with being short - that coupled with a cheeky smile and disposition - certainly got me into more beds when I was younger than had I been 'average' height

Besides, I just view it as wasting my time chasing someone whose criteria I don't meet

I think meeting guys helps too though - they don't seem too arsed about the 6ft rule

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

It's one of those "tickboxes" that unfortunately affect men disproportionately compared to women. From my experience, most women prefer equal height or taller while for men this is not normally an issue. Is this unfair? Who's to say, it seems to come down more to preference rather than any kind of prejudice.

I'm 6"2 so fortunately i've not experienced this problem

I think when all is said and done, height is only a component of the overall package. Even if you have it, if you fail in other departments you won't have much luck either.

It IS my preference. I'm not sure why you feel the need to comment negatively to me. I'm not insisting guys be 6ft plus, just a good few inches taller than me. And it doesn't cause me any problems.

I'm fuller bodied/plus size/fat whatever label you want to give me, and I accept that I won't be for everyone. Just accept what you can't change. As you say, plenty out there for everbody.

This is it really.

If you want a bloody great evening out with fantastic conversation followed by amazing sex - then if the guy is a couple of inches shorter than your general preference it shouldn’t really matter!

I think once a guy hits around the 30-35 age marker on fab, his personality becomes more important than his 6-pack!

I find most women prefer men over 6ft.

Thought most have no idea how high 6ft is. It's just an arbitary number that's easy to remember.

I'm 5ft9 and people are surprised when I tell them that. They seem to think I'm taller

My height's never been a problem in real life, just online for the above reason

I'm comfortable with my height, but I think people need to remember that you can't change your height.

That being said you can change your weight so there's no excuse lying about that

I can sort of see where women are coming from in some ways but it does suck if you're a guy and you're short. Literally sod all you can do about it.

On the flip side I know a lot of guys with a real thing for short girls.

Oddly enough we've had 1 no based on me being too big (me being the male at 6'). But each to their own and we're all attracted to what we're attracted to.

My initial post. I agreed to meet a guy who said he was 5'4". After turning up, in flats, he was barely 5'1" and thought it was acceptable to lie to get me to turn up.

Hence my wariness with "short" guys

My initial post. I agreed to meet a guy who said he was 5'4". After turning up, in flats, he was barely 5'1" and thought it was acceptable to lie to get me to turn up.

Hence my wariness with "short" guys"

Wow fair enough....never seen that comment

I've had same experience with few socials were on the pics they look a lot slimmer and know obviously how to take a very good flattering pic...and then when you turn up they look nothing like there pics...also realise why they don't smile in there photos when you meet them and they open there mouth

"I'm short but my best mate is 6ft4 but ugly as sin so is height that important

My mates are all varying heights. Which is ok, as I don't want to have sex with them

Haha neither do I but you get my point....I'm short but better looking than my mate so what you going to choose?!?!

As long as you ARE 5'8", I choose you

I don't meet your requirements as I'm too short but you aren't my type so we're even

Thanks for that

But I don't think I gave a height limit?? FYI 5'8" is totally acceptable to me

You said 5ft8 was your limit which is fine....i do think some women on here can get on there high horse (not meaning you by the way) and say no no height is important and I'd never meet you but they say it like the guy should be privileged to meet her and if he was tall enough he would meet her which is bollocks lol

That's why I commented. I'm really not that kind of woman.

And to be fair, I've not come across a lot of 5'1" guys since that experience

Hahaha! That's why I tell people on my profile that I'm fat - my photos are from good angles!

But yes, we all have our preferences on here be it height, weight, sexual proclivity, or boob size!

I do prefer taller men...5'11" plus. As other ladies have said, I like them to be at least as tall as me when I've got heels on...and I've got some pretty high heels I still need to like their face, body, personality and attitude though, so it's just one of many things that needs to be right...and I'm not averse to bending my height preference if I like everything else (in fact, I'm more likely to bend on that than anything else)

I don't mind a man's height - I'm relatively tallish for a woman and I can't say a man being shorter than me has put me off before. It's more of a whole package thing and the confidence a man has that attracts me to him. I'm also not the sort to swoon over a man because he's 6ft plus - on somewhere like here you do see if a man is taller and moderately okay looking women swarm to him like...

But surely you need to take a woman's height into consideration with this...presuming you mean certain dress sizes pertaining to particular body shapes that is. A woman who is 4'11" and a size 14 will have a much different body shape and level of body fat to a woman who is 5"10 and a size 14, for example.

I never realised it was that much of a thing for women. I'm not the tallest person ever but I can see why its such a thing. I prefer shorter women, 5'5 and under so its only fair women prefer taller me.

I can see were your coming from but I'm just trying to make it so its mutual decision whether the two people want to meet or not and that its not just the womans decision just because the guy doesn't match up to a desired height

Me personally my preference is size 12 or lower and that is purely based on previous meets/partners

Always used to find online it made a real difference in person not so much. Not helped by my aversion to being photographed!

Ive gone on dates with girls of all heights and im relaxed about it and its totally fair enough if it doesnt float anothers boat. We all have preferences even if its just for fun x

Yeah your right...women and men all have preferences and should all be equal in making that decision...I couldn't go out with a woman that was taller than me no matter what my height...so if I was 6ft she would have to be smaller than 6ft

There should be a height filter on the search...so when I'm searching I can put my height in and it only shows women that would consider meeting certain heights...it saves both parties lots of time...there should be plenty of different filters

Just seems like you’ve taken offence to people that have expressed a preference that doesn’t include you so you’re trying to strike back by saying well I only like slim women anyway.

But the equivalent would be a guy who also stated a preference for height. Like a guy who was over 6ft could say he would only consider meeting women over 5’9. A guy who was 5’9 could say he only wants to meet women under 5’4.

You’re saying women prefer taller guys and you prefer slimmer women. They’re not in the same category if you see what I mean?

I like holding hands comfortably, kissing without hurting my neck, and proper hugs!

Yeah I see what you mean there both not preferences of height...but me personally I used dress size as an example as that is as important to me as height is important to women....I just don't get why I'm getting hostility due to a preference

I’m not being hostile. Nothing you’ve said makes me feel excluded. I’m 5’3 and a size 8 so feel free to state your preferences. "

Not you being hostile just in general ...nothing wrong with preferences just as to be accepted no matter which sex states it

"That's a shame. Could have flown other non-combat aircraft in the RAF."

I'm also short-sighted, SHIT at maths, not a team player, and averse to taking orders from anyone who's not an attractive woman. And that was before I noticed all the blowing up poor brown people for having the sheer audacity to be poor, brown and near oil.

Ah, I see. Height was the least of your handicaps then.

"Oh - in the last 5 minutes I can’t view your profile.

Didn’t think I’d said anything contentious or upsetting - but apologies if I did!

Anyway - your choice who gets to view you - have a great day Ryan!

Me??

I didn't take any offence at anything you wrote, didn't notice anything to be honest...don't know why you can't see my profile"

No worries. As long as I’ve not offended you that’s fine!

I don't consider independence, thoughtfulness, a strong sense of right and wrong and a pronounced reluctance to murder anyone to be handicaps.

Still think aeroplanes are cool, though.
