Why is it, that when we fall over, our egos are bruised more than our bodies?

Somewhere In The Ether…

It’s much worse on the ego if there are bystanders

Unless you dislocate your collar bone, that hurt a lot more than my ego did

Ahh. The best thing to do is laugh it off. It’s so cringy when people are concerned I’d rather make a joke of it and move on then cry in the shower thinking about it everyday for the next two months

Oh gosh I love this!

There were only the kids close, they didn't bat an eyelash. I guess years of telling them "you're ok, up you get!" has had an impact

It's that instant reaction of not checking yourself over, but checking if anyone saw

when I was at church as a kid (I know, I know don't exactly follow Jesus now being on here) but yeah anyway I fell when I was carrying the bread down the isle and the priest went mad like the body of Christ!!! Started picking it all up freaking out and everyone was just glaring at me

Oh wow. That is not very Christian indeed like they couldn't just bless more bread

La la land

Cause we all like to think we're cool and calm as fuck. But in reality we go into panic mode everytime we trip over. As long as I don't flash my arse as I do I'll not die too much of embarrassment

To be fair, I think worse had happened to the body of Christ than being dropped on the floor...

Recently I lost my balance when coming out of a cafe with a mate, everyone around me laughed till I struggled to get up and started to vomit.

It turned out I had an ear infection that fucked up my balance, I still cringe at falling over regardless of the fact I was ill.

My most embarrassing fall was about 7 years ago. I tripped over my own feet and fell hard enough to rip my tights - two tiny elderly ladies rushed over to help me and honestly I was mortified! I did really hurt myself too, I was bruised for weeks, but the shame of being picked up by two old ladies and trying not to cry like a toddler because it hurt was something else.
