Im told that you can't watch freeview over the Internet, you have to get an aerial.

Treat yourself to sky or virgin. Alternatively run an android box of the WiFi

I'm not paying for telly. Done that in the past, utterly pointless.

What's an android box?

You could always try an indoor aerial - about £20 I believe.

Or just buy a firestick. And download a free streaming app or six.

Are they reliable? Will I be balanced on a chair with a wire coat hanger in the other hand to get a signal?

Basically a free view box which runs from the WiFi - Type it into an eBay search - mine was £24

They are reputed to work, but I have a telly, so no guarantees fro me.

If you do have to stand one legged on a chair with a wire coathanger post a pic?

We ordered an indoor Ariel from Amazon for the chalet we have at the end of the garden , works great. Just type in 60 meter indoor Ariel. It’s about £8

What's wrong with a coat hanger. I used one for years.

You could always stick a satellite dish up and watch freeview.

Try an android box.. mine was £30 on fleabay model T9 or alternatively just use your pc for one of the streaming services free ones and connect pc to tv via cable.

Or be really clever and get streaming service on your phone and bluetooth it to your smart tv

Weirdsville South Coast Dorset

I live in a bad reception area and got my first indoor aerial 3 weeks ago from Amazon for £7 that gives me over 100 freeview channels. I only got it as back up the island has been having internet issues so my android tv box (£30 from Ebay, and I use kodi, mobdro, livenettv to name a few, all free tv) had nothing to connect to.

Is it generally easy to bluetooth stream content to a TV without a dongle?

I moved here just before the first lockdown and watched very little TV so didn't bother with an aerial, I just got a Now TV box from the supermarket for £20.

Does me fine.

Am I missing out by not having an android box?

I can’t help with the telly issues as I haven’t had one for years and am unfamiliar with all the gizmos people have been telling you about.

But I can wish you all the best in your new home, hope it’ll be a happy home for you. ( once you’ve got the tv sorted)

Thanks Huggy. I've no idea what those gizmos are too and I have a telly that's small and old.
