Hey fabsters

Was out for a run earlier and can't believe how many people have already put up full blown Christmas decorations

Trees - lights - inflatable Santa's - the works

Maybe it's just my town ?

My questIon IS IT TOO EARLY?

Guernsey

Yes. 15 Dec is early enough.

I hate Xmas it drags on for too long. I haven't put decorations out for several years and donated all the good ones to charity a few weeks back. The rest went in the bin.

No I don't think so. It's been a tough year for a lot of people - losing jobs, family, the chance to see loved ones and freedom.

I remember how magical it would be seeing all the Christmas decorations when I was a little girl, it was such a contrast to the harshness of winter. We all need a bit of magic in our lives and if that's from a lit tree reminding us of happier times and giving us hope for happier times to come, I'm all for it.

Anything before Dec is too early. Shops have decorations in too and already playing Xmas songs.

I've just been out and noticed the same!! There's loads up already! For a normal year I would say omg yes waaaayyyy too early! However this is 2020 we're talking about so I guess anything goes and if it makes people happy then who are we to say otherwise!!

My tree will more than likely go up tomorrow. It's a tiny little three or two foot tree, bless it.

High Wycombe

Far too early. Due to lockdown the flung to be surrounded by them for nearly 8 weeks.

Said it in another thread, but I bet the people who put them up now will take them down Boxing Day and shoot about it on Facebook

La la land

I think so, but maybe it's because I'm lazy. I see why it's been done to add cheer to the gloom this year. But do worry the magic of Christmas is being diluted a little too much.

Mine are definitely going up today and also I'm planning to get slowly sloshed on m+s baileys

There might be some sloshed tinsel photos loaded later

In other years, I would probably see it as too early but this year definitely not.

I’ve got my tree up and my ornaments out and my projector outside and lights. The whole shebang really. It’s a weird year and it was a nice thing to do with my daughter.

Any other year I would say yes to early. This year however, I think people are just trying to find something that makes them feel happy. It’s been such a bad year for soo many people, surely a little Christmas cheer is aloud even if it’s early.
