Newcastle and Gateshead

well we all know he said it.... otherwise sky wouldn't have pixelated it out for the last nine months....

and you wouldn't said that unless it was pointed at someone.... so his defence doesn't really hold much water....

will a jury find him guilty... thats the more interesting question.... or whether the words he used are acceptable in general society...

Honestly it's not important. If he is guilty why is the trial now? The trial should of been months ago but the fa wouldn't put him on trial because if found guilty he would of missed the euros.

Suarez got his trial months ago and I think that terry got off the hook.

Just my opinion.

John Terry lifts the trophy in his Chelsea kit - that's the quickest he's got his kit on since Wayne Bridge came home early one day.

JT has signed up to star in a new TV show. It’s called Other Footballers’ Wives.

That he is innocent. If the evidence proves he did do it, i hope the court throws the book at him.

Crucifixion?

Er, no, freedom actually.

What?

Yeah, they said I hadn't done anything and I could go and live on an island somewhere.

Oh I say, that's very nice. Well, off you go then.

No, I'm just pulling your leg, it's crucifixion really.

As soon as cps got involved FA put investigation on hold

CPS set date of trial not FA to ensure all witnesses were available and not on euro duty

Its an interesting case as many have him convicted before trial. I have heard a few versions of what was alleged to have been said from the people on the pitch to lip readers and strangely they don't appear to be the same thing. Fascinating that some think we all know what was said when in reality we only think we know as we weren't within ear shot. I hope the trial is conducted in a proper manner and they stick to the facts and not go with what the press think.

And there is the issue. Would a jury find him guilty, him being a world class star footballer (lol). And if they do find in innocent, then its a damning _iew of what our society is prepared to tolerate.

Having seen Terry on the pitch since the alleged incident involving Ferdinand it is plain to see how he mouths off to anyone on the opposition to gain an edge in the game. He does it without even thinking, whether it's winding someone up or kneeing them in the back, it's win at all costs to John Terry.

Do I think he's an out an out racist? No, I don't. Do I think he said something to Ferdinand that Ferdinand interpreted as a racist comment? Yes, I do. Should the FA/Courts throw the book at him? No, they should punish him accordingly and a three month ban would be justified. If they find him guilty of racist intent, which I don't think there was and I don't think the court will uphold it.

I'm not defending the guy as it's no big secret I can't stand him but the law has to be followed and if it is found that he made a crack but there was no racist intent behind it then he shouldn't be hung for it.

It's not Antons word against his, the words were directed towards Anton but he did not hear them and was not aware of the comments until he had left the ground

It was not Anton that made the complaint

Is the trial not to establish if he is a racist..

Has he been found guilty before... I don't know a lot about it.

But if he is racist scum... I assume so without the use of the word scum..

this has been proved time and time again and Anton still states he never heared it and as they have zero evidence against a man who has spent most of his life trying to get rid of racisem in sport why are they waisting public money i think its a case of sour grapes

That may be true, I have no idea personally, but if Terry is found guilty of what he is accused of in court, the net effect will be a lot greater than that as it's unlikely that sponsors will want to be associatted with him, plus it might have some effect on his career even if it is in the tail end of his career now.

whatever happens once the jury have been presented with all the evidence, heard JT, heard the witness statements of people who were actually there, listened to the summing up statements from both sides and the judge..

I know one thing, if you were ever, god forbid, to find yourself in court facing charges with a jury.....

they are more objective than some in these forums.

Not exclusive to just this thread..
