To a certain extent. I don't believe it "brings" things into your life. But I do believe that if you're in a constantly negative frame of mind that you will generally see the negative things first and foremost, and it will seem like you're attracting negativity. And conversely with a positive frame of mind...look for the silver lining in every cloud and things will seem more positive.

Had to Google the Law Of Attraction to understand this but having done so this would about sum up my view.

I'd add that those that tend to err towards the negative view of life can see even positive things as negatives and that in itself breeds further negativity.

It's not so much about "attraction" but perception - take a negative view and you'll perceive things negatively, and vice versa

Recent brain imaging studies are rapidly showing that the brain does in fact conform in its function to the "Law of Attraction". Perhaps the most convincing evidence to date has been the discovery of "mirror neurons". At first seen in monkeys, scientists eventually found a set of "mirror neurons" in humans that mirror the behaviour of someone who is being observed. That is, when we observe someone doing something, the same pattern of brain activation that allows that person to do what they are doing (e.g. lifting up their right hand or smiling) is mirrored in the brain of the observer. It is as if the observer is doing those same things. Activations are seen in the premotor and parietal cortex of the brain: regions that prepare the body for movement and attention. Thus, our brains appear to mirror the actions of another person automatically. Similarly, when we act, the brains of others will fire in a similar way. Our actions cause similar action-representations in the brains of others.

And so our moods affect those around us, our positivity or negativity is infectious. If we put our energies into what we really want we are much more likely to get it than if we don’t.

There is a lot of scientific evidence from neuroscience that actually suggests it is not hogwash. It doesn’t mean that bad things won’t happen, but visualising what we want and then acting to create that will often produce the results we want - a virtuous circle. However we often interrupt this virtuous circle with our own self doubt and self criticism, not believing it which creates a counter cycle - the vicious circle - and attract what we don’t want.

I’ve seen evidence in my own life of this. Whether it is true or not, I don’t know, but I do find it a useful presupposition and act accordingly.

No waffling that I could see there - summed it up nicely once I knew what you were talking about

That's interesting. I wonder how far one can extrapolate from imaging data to real life consequences.

I'll add it to my reading pile. Although at this rate I'll probably get to it when I'm 80

People who have a positive outlook appreciate what they have rather than what they don't have, tend to realise that it's rare for money and possessions to fall into your lap or bring contentment and know that the person of their dreams is unlikely to knock on the door and sweep them off their feet. Therefore they set about putting things in place to achieve these things. The universe doesn't give a darn about individuals
