I hadn't even thought about this until yesterday when I was rummaging around my wardrobe and found some of my old CD's .

Havent bought any in years as I use Soundcloud.

So do you still buy them ??

I still like to have music I can hold that's not all just electronic on my phone or online something about CDs, vinyl and cassette tapes that just makes it more real for me, but then I'm old school and still watch VHS tapes as well as DVDs

Yes, I love CDs and vinyl. The most recent ones are the new Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi (both good) and I am waiting for more deliveries. I prefer physical stuff you can actually own, although I create my own MP3 or FLAC files, I can still play them in 20 years or in places where I don't have Internet

I enjoy looking through and buying CD’s from charity shops. Pisses me off though when I see ones that I paid full price for years back going for 50p.

Never see Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd though - do people keep them or do staff get first dibs?

Punted all mine to music magpie a good few years ago having ripped them all and put them on an ipod. That was heartbreaking.

Nowadays it's tidal for the regular music and vinyl for the occasional treat.

Don't buy any now and haven't for years have boxes full of them in the loft. Still have my old Kenwood stacked hi-fi in the loft too (six sections I think) which I mean to resurrect one day but wonder what years of cold winters and hot summers might gave done to the internals etc over time

No, haven't bought an actual album for a few years (think the last one was 'The Resistance' by Muse in 2015).

Sold all my vinyl off a few years back on eBay, have cut CDs down to the ones I really like and just use a free account on Spotify.

Still got my 30 year old Sony seperates hi-fi system which I keep meaning to sell on eBay.

Yeah, still buy cds and dvds also vinyl.

I still have some vhs in the cupboard but no telly to watch them on. Also have some 8mm home movies that go back to the sixties with no sound. I still have the projector to run them but last time I had it out the bulb went.

Yes, I buy them all the time as the artist will receive more through physical sales than downloads, and your favourite stars can't sign a download if you meet them

I do for artists I really like as I like to have the hard copy and the joy of looking through the CD booklet etc

I've also found that quite often the CD on Amazon is cheaper than the download copy (and then with their Auto-RIP thing gives you a download anyway) so will often get the CD version when that is the case.

Be warned my Kenwood stacked Hi-Fi wouldn't play some CD's made after 2006. Apparently due to changes in the indexing track on the CD that was incorporated to reduce the risk of copying. Kenwood never issued a firmware update for their Hi-Fi's though and mine went in the skip, except for the turntable!

I buy vinyl from charity shops, wash them carefully in warm soapy water and the sound quality is very much improved. Never buy new cds anymore
