In my defense, I hate milky tea so I leave the teabag in to squeeze a bit more in case of an over enthusiastic splosh of milk.

To infuse full flavour out of the teabag, it needs to catch the water on the boil, milk being in there will bring the temp down, thus not getting the full flavour.
