He's in Essex I'm in the Midlands.

At the end of the last lockdown I was back at work and work was crazy busy.

It was his birthday last weekend and mine next weekend so that's fucked. I had booked time off as holiday for it so we could meet up, but obviously that's gone to shit.

I'd like to thank all who've still been meeting and not following the guidelines. Cheers fuckers.

If I can be selfish for a moment I missed out on 3 running events that I was training for. They have all been postponed until next year which is better than being cancelled completely.

I am not close to my wider family and so I have been fortunate to have my eldest child as my bubble household and my youngest still lives at home. So thankful that my little family unit has remained but I have really missed our friends from a sport and activities perspective as well as from a social side but also knowing they are going through difficulties has been hard not being able to be there for them physically, so we have maintained contact using video chats as a group and we have sent a 'hug in a box' gift to one friend to lift her spirits...and it worked but also made her cry... bless her.

Her x

It's the bloody work thing that doesn't help. As soon as we're back open I'm back up to full speed and need the money too. For any guarantees I have to book holiday. This time round any holiday we booked still stands, so even though I'm off anyway due to furlough I'll still lose the 10 days I had booked but I'll get holiday rate for them instead of furlough pay. Swings n roundabouts. We can't take any holiday in December anyway even if I had it there to use.

I've resigned myself to some time next year. I'm peeved about it but can't change it unless I break the rules and I'm not prepared to do to that to other people. The more we fail each other the longer this shit will continue.

The list of what I miss is too long.

We haven't seen our son since January. We don't see him a lot because he's a three hour drive away and works about 60/70 hours a week but it'll be Jan/Feb at the earliest before we see him again.

My friends. Just sitting with a cup of coffee chatting shit with them.

Going out.

Karaoke nights in a local boozer

Trying bras on in shops and not having to take them back because they dont fit

Play areas for my kids to play with other children

Dentists for non emergency treatment

Getting the correct medical help for my nerve pain

Ooooh I really could go on and on

There and to the left a bit

Same things I missed last time...

Being able to see friends and family freely

Gigs - had several planned for this year all postponed

Just simply having the freedom to come and go

But compared to the alternative I can suffer those until it's safe to do otherwise
