Face tic

Ok, so. No nasty comments please. I have a slight facial tic (twitch) at times, especially when nervous. It’s nothing major, mostly my eyes. I am so so self conscious about it and it really puts me off going on cam and meeting new people.

Views? Would it bother you? Although I say no nasty comments, I do appreciate genuine honestly.

Have you looked at yourself in the mirror when it happens?

My eye twitches really bad sometimes when I'm stressed. Feels like my whole face is moving but when I've looked in the mirror it hardly moves and people probably wouldn't notice.

I have. Well, worse than that. I’ve looked at videos of myself and it’s quite prominent.

.

When I’m speaking to superiors at work, I feel like I over emphasise a blink and hold my eyes shut a bit.

Doesn’t bother me one bit, and although I’ve noticed strange looks. People quickly get over it!

Nope personally that wouldn't bother me, I would appreciate being told about it first though, rather than find out on the social

Glasgowish

It would not bother me but if it bothers you maybe ask your Gp for advice. There may be a simple solution to solve the problem.

I might notice it at first, but once used to it (and expecting it) I reckon it would be fine.

Sometimes just the unexpectedness of it startles you at first, that’s all.

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest

In fact, I quite like the little things that make us unique

Oh, and OP, I had facial palsy in my 20's so the left side of my face lags behind the right

Most of the time it isn't evident, but when I get tired or pissed, my left eye starts to shut of its own accord

It's purely because the eye muscles never regained their full strength after the palsy

I have no issue discussing it

I find because I own it, it has never been a problem

No, it wouldn't bother me, though it'd be better to know about it first, just so that it isn't a surprise =)

Thanks. Just really worries me. Worried it will put people off meeting in the first place if I mention it.

Although in the past a ‘friend’ told me it was cute and just me.

I guess. Thank you. Means a lot. I guess in general day to day life I just go with it. But when meeting on here or dating I worry.

If it puts them off meeting you that's a good thing. You wouldn't want to sit there with someone who found it odd.

An excellent point. X
