That hotel thread got me thinking about when I worked in the welcome break hotel 17 years ago. I really loved that job, was so easy on reception and I’d have free meals up in the services. I’d have free rooms in the hotel.

When I used to do the 3pm till 11pm shift my boyfriend at the time would come to the hotel and ask me to pretend he was a normal customer and sit in reception and try chatting me up, then when my shift finished I’d have to pretend I was the housemaid walking in his room to catch him having a wank and then joining him.

Loved that job. What jobs have you lot had that you loved?

Winning numbers... I worked for a phone company years ago in an office overlooking St Paul's in London. My role was to ring random customers and inform them they had won a money prize. Then I hit a key on the computer and it generated an amount... Anything from 5 to 2500 pounds! Loved that

I took an extra job while saving for a flat in a bar on Friday and Saturday nights. It was exhausting on top of a full time job but I loved working there. It was kind of halfway between a social club and a nightclub and was a local community favourite. There was a group of older long time regulars from when it had been more a social club as well as all the younger ones they attracted with the DJ and 1am/2am finish time and somehow these two very different groups ticked along together well. The staff and regulars were brilliant and I miss it. The pay was crap though.

Oh and as an aerialist, best gig was dancing in the air hanging in rope and harness from the rigging of a tall ship above the water in a big fancy dress. I designed the rigging, Co directed, choreographed and applied for the funding. Paid myself and all others involved well too. Happy days!
