Guys how would you describe Pick up artists?

What do you know about them, or care to share any techniques or terminology used?

I’ve read a bit about them referring to women as plates, meaning they have multiple plates spinning on the go.

I wanna know anything you know about it and how you’d describe it please.

Don’t know any personally, but have seen a few online and quite frankly they seem pretty disrespectful of women

I don't think that there's anything wrong with learning a few openers to get to meet people; but by the time you get to considering yourself a "pick-up artist" it's probably a prettly reliable indicator that you're a bellend.

Trying to meet people is fine, treating it as a sport isn't.

Are these the ones who use negging as a technique?

Yeah negging is one of the terms I’ve read about. I read a book called ‘the game’ what an eye opener.

I'd never thought about actually reading it, might be quite interesting.

Not that I'm into online dating much any more, but I do remember getting the occasional neggy message and they always jumped out at me as a kind of obvious technique if that makes sense? Like it was pretty clear what someone was attempting to do. Strange approach but I suppose that is life's rich tapestry...

I think being a pickup artist you have to have a lot going for you. It's never just 'game' that gets you in.

A smile, some charm, height etc etc

I've not spun any plates so to speak but have witnessed it and i have to say, if your not on the receiving end it can be quite fun.

I've seen some online and pressure is another thing that gets applied.

"If you're not on the receiving end it can be quite fun" that has made me want to bring my dinner back up. Some cunts would say the same about scamming others out of money, or happy slapping some poor kid in the park.

It's not fun. It's fraudulent and bang fucking out of order. Basically tricking people into bed and applying tactics to do so. The damage that can be done to someone's self esteem when they realise they've been utterly played can be seriously detrimental. Fun ffs.

Apologies for the misunderstanding here. Obviously, those effected dont see it as fun. I would rather live in a world where everyone was honest and upfront, but this is not the case. There are players, scammers, fraudsters and theifs. You have to be vigilant and responsible for your own actions, take precautions so to speak. You can be handing out your bank details then get upset when it turns out it wasn't really a nigerian prince on the other end of the email.

I apologies if my comment came across hurtful, it was not my intention.

Seems ok for women to manipulate men, boot when the boot is on the other foot it’s a problem for some.

How do women manipulate men?

"How do women manipulate men?"

Usually they're wearing high heels to make themselves look taller, make-up to make their skin look smoother, eye shadow / liner to make their ojos more alluring, their hair isn't normally their natural colour, wonder bras...

I'm surprised you're the only one to mention The Game. It's a hilarious book people, if you need some time to kill during the lockdown.

Not one of the examples given is manipulation.

It's about wanting to look good.

You can see all of those things.

Wearing heels, push up bras and makeup is not really manipulating anyone. It’s obvious that when the heels come off the woman will be shorter, when the makeups off you’ll see her barefaced. Hardly the same as being tricked and played and having false promises said to you in order to get sex from you.

I guess it's a matter of perspective. Appearing to look like something you're not to make yourself attractive to others is a form of manipulation to me. This isn't a bad thing by any means - it encourages confidence.

From what I gather from the book PUA's use charm and one liners. False promises are usually reserved for great new boyfriends / girlfriends who later turn out to be dicks.

You need to look up the meaning of manipulation then because wearing makeup, high heels and bras is not manipulation. Fuck sake. I can’t even write because I’m so gobsmacked.

Yeah, it doesn’t seem like you have a very high opinion of women.

It’s useful though to hear your opinions though.

The stuff on Reddit about red pill guys is shocking.

I was reading (through a recommendation off here) a sub forum called hunting the mammoth. Basically takes the piss out of all the nonsense, the PUA the red pill the MGTOW guys.

It’s an eye opener alright!

I think you're confused. I was throwing out some examples of how women can be manipulative as you asked, not providing my opinion of women. But I think you already knew that. Anyroad, I hope you find some answers that can lead to a healthy discussion.
