I haven't got any tattoos.

I did kind of mull the idea over but I never did it!

Have you got tattoos you regret?

Or..do you love them as much now as much now as when you had them?

Got my 6 tattoos between the age of 16 and 21.

Was always planning more but I went totally off them around 10 years ago.

The ones I have don't bother me at all as they're just part of me now, but if I had never got them, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have ever got any.

I love them though I have none of my own. My regret is not actually getting them when I was younger because my ex used to call them tramp stamps. I'm older now and I worry too much if I'll like it in a few years time to actually go through with it now

I only started a last year...I had contemplated for a long time but never really knew what I wanted. So an idea formed and everything on my body signifies something to me...very few know what they are.

I did worry once I’d started if I would like it or not....but I do like them it’s odd now liking at pics from before when my skin is bare!

I find the sound of the needle enough to give me the urge to have one. That and the fact that it’s someone artwork and a memory of a particular time, experience or frame of mind.

I did end up having my nose pierced three times and just having it pierced once was a bit 'different' then. Stopped wearing anything in the holes in my late 30s/early 40s.

I’ve always thought about it but never have mainly because where I’d want one is quite hairy & im not one for shaving arms legs etc.

H has a 6” Celtic style one at the base of her back which she wants to get made bigger.

An ex of mine spent a fortune having a colour vine done. It started at the tip of her little toe wen around her ankle bone, ran all the way up her leg getting bigger till it was big enough to have wildlife in amongst it.

A gecko on her thigh then onto her back then it grew to cover both shoulders with a lizard & bird within the leaves.

It was beautiful though.

Only the first couple I did on myself...the groot and seashell on my thigh...theyre shocking! But yaknow...first time with a tattoo machine...still don't regret them...they show my progress...the last one I did on myself is decent

I have 4 altogether and have 2 half sleeves designs drawn which Includes another cover up of a 23 year old tattoo ive outgrown, just waiting for cold weather and no lockdown

It’s the tattoos I don’t like, nothing to do with the people, there’s plenty of lovely people who get them, but when I spot them on someone I like I’m always a bit disappointed, that yes, they too have a tattoo.

as a biker and an ex soldier I’m one of the rare non tattooed in the group. Always asked when I’m getting ‘inked up’.

They use to have a lot of cache with me as a younger man, the people who had them seemed like dangerous people to know. Now Police, Grannies, Midwifes and MP’s are inked up

The rebellious side of them have all but disappeared and the fashion fad taken over.

I will add, no issue with the people who have them or make a living from the artistry of them. I just won’t now, as the reason to have them in my opinion has lost its lustre for me.

I find the sound of the needle enough to give me the urge to have one. That and the fact that it’s someone artwork and a memory of a particular time, experience or frame of mind.

What about the pain!!?

They’re generally not that painful but in the odd instance I actually quite enjoy it.

I like a bit of pleasurable pain myself

I've got six tattoos none of which I regret as I left it until I turned 30 to get them, also spend alot of time thinking about placement and the right tattoo artist before getting them done. Other half has a few tattoos some are cover ups but majority he likes.

I don't mind people not liking my inkwork...its only for me

I do take offence to being called unoriginal tho...most of the tattoos I wear I designed myself. That's like accusing a writer of plagiarism...

I've got one that I had done in New Zealand 25 years ago.

So of course it's just a messy blue blur - thankfully I can't see it without a mirror and it's something I can cover.

I don't think people realise that tatooes usually look awful after a decade or so.

And tastes are never permanent.

I have a full arm & hand piece. Its not generic i have a story behind all mine mainly related to my motor racing/drag racing back ground

Love tattoos and some I regret but you can get them lasered off now pretty cheap aswell. Defo want more

Had my first at 17 my last at 57, I'm 90% covered. Mostly Japanese art

My only regret is just wish I ha put more thought into some of them but just grateful for getting to know some amazing artists

Had my first one well over 20 years ago, I remember my dad's reaction

Just like any art it is subjective and I don't expect everyone to like them.

I have had 2 cover ups done of the only tattoos that had no back story to them but I love all I have now

I have a number of tattoos and my next one is booked.

I started getting ink in my late 30's and will continue for a while yet.

I have had my first tattoo covered by another as I disliked the design, I changed tattoo artists and have since used the same artist for all of my ink.

I love my tattoos, I enjoy the feeling of happiness they give me when I see them every day.

I very much enjoy being with a lover as they trace their fingers over the ink and are really taking in the detail of the design as I watch them, and they kiss my tattoos or grab at them during sex.

I am looking forward to being an old lady chatting away about my wrinkled ink to my great grandchildren
