I've already lost count of how many times today I've rolled my eyes and said FFS under my breath and it's only 10am

Be nice people or don't but my eyes are starting to hurt.

How is everyone else's Friday going?

The Town by The Cross

The eye rolling emoji is the preserve of the Passive Aggressive who likes to frown on what others say and do so whilst imagining that it is better to eye roll than to say what they think or feel.

Thing is ..... they post the eye roll so others CAN see it.

The greater part of communication is through bodily language. Eye rolling shows your disease and displeasure.

So .... is the eye roller any 'nicer' or 'less negative' ..... than the word user??

Not in my book.

Nail well and truly hit on the head there!!

Guess what? It's a forum...on the internet...people are going to disagree and shock horror hold different opinions to you.

There *are* far more important things in life to worry about.

All this "be nice/kind" stuff is unnecessary - it's not the school playground, although it feels like it sometimes, we're all adults (although sometimes I question that too) people do behave differently and hold different opinions and are perfectly entitled to express them, if you don't like them either ignore them, or if necessary have an adult conversation about why you disagree with them - yes we all eye roll at things on here at times and sometimes with justification but getting hot under the collar about it is just not worth it.

Yes we should all strive to be considerate and respectful of others but constantly telling and expecting others to "be nice" wears a little thin, it's not needed, it won't change those that deliberately set out to be disruptive or who hold a different view to you - so you just have to accept it happens and realise the world isn't all fluff and rainbows.

And you can eye roll all you like at that - in fact have a few on me

"I dropped my lunch on the floor with resulted in a massive FFS. Other than that I'm actually quite good ta OP, something I've been working on for a while has suddenly worked and I'm a tiny bit excited

I sploshed tomato based pasta sauce from my lunch on my white t-shirt, right in the centre between the boobs. I'm currently attempting Operation Baby Wipe to stop myself looking like a scruff for my 2pm meeting

I need to know how Operation Baby Wipe worked out now....

Overt tomato stain is diminished. Slight discolouration visible to me, but colleague assures me not visible on camera. I shoved my boobs at him in a 1:1 call to check. Operation Vanish Stain Remover required later "

I was worried. Bet your colleague was *so* upset at needing to check for you though

"I keep typing replies on some of the threads and then deleting them.. What is the point ffs... But it's only a forum, bigger things in life to worry about without sweating the small or ridiculous stuff.. Peace out everyone

Tip of the day.. If it triggers you, just pass it by and let it be.. Be kind to yourself lol, you don't need that crap in your life!

I will eyeroll you. No it isnt fluff and rainbows but there are trolls and bullies wrapped up in nice little bodies with good tits so no one bats an eye lid. The ones purposefully provoking people to get wound or upset should be dealt with way more than they are "

As I said, eye roll all you like - it won't change my views as stated above - including that eye rolling and "be nice/kind" won't change a thing when it comes to those that are deliberately provocative.

Yes, they should be dealt with where appropriate, nowhere in my post did I suggest they shouldn't, but it also, most of the time, comes down to individual interpretation of what is appropriate and that, a lot of the time, is subjective and comes back to what I said about differing opinions, and accepting that others hold them, and the choice to either ignore those you disagree with, challenge them in an adult way, or if you believe it necessary reporting it so admin can take a view and act if necessary.

I say again, eye rolling and calling for people to "be nice/kind" won't change a thing, and as the post I originally responded to so eloquently stated:

"it's only a forum, bigger things in life to worry about without sweating the small or ridiculous stuff.. Peace out everyone"

I personally think it is a bit sad to disregard the be kind statement, but maybe you preferred a time when people were told to man up and get over it. The world is a wank enough place at the moment and many folks come on here to have some escape where they are then lambasted by certain people for no good reason other than sport.

When it is bullying or trolling it should NEVER be brushed over.

Yes you can scroll passed and ignore as it won't feed them but sometimes it grates on that insecurity you have.

No one had to read or reply to this. I had a moan then asked how everyone's day was going, that's all. When it is bullying or trolling it should NEVER be brushed over.

Yes you can scroll passed and ignore as it won't feed them but sometimes it grates on that insecurity you have.

"

I haven't disregarded it - in fact in my original post I made it very clear that "we should all strive to be considerate and respectful of others" which is essentially the same thing - what I said was constantly being told to "be nice/kind" wears a little thin - being nice or kind should be a basic tenet each one of us strives for - it's called human decency, and no not everyone manages it, or even manages it 100% of the time.

There are also people that portray a "butter wouldn't melt" image publically who privately are somewhat different and frankly I'd be more concerned about those people than those who are consistent regardless even if you disagree with their views.

As for "maybe you preferred a time when people were told to man up and get over it"? How on earth do you conclude that from anything I've said? There's a world of difference between being realistic about life and understanding that sometimes you just have to accept things the way they are and what you've suggested - I learned to pick my fights as you can't win them all - and frankly the words I don't like of others on an internet forum is one fight it's not worth fighting.

I agree true bullying and trolling should never be brushed over but also far too often cries of "bully" and "troll" are thrown about just because someone offers a different opinion, and it comes back to a subjective thing when that happens.

Either way it still boils down to what can you do about it when you perceive it to happen? Basically one of three things:

- Ignore it

- Report it

- Challenge it in an adult way if necessary and possible

None of those are brushing over it, even ignoring isn't - true trolls/bullies crave the attention so by not giving it to them you're brushing them aside rather than over them.
