A proper 6 pack you’re talking less than 10% body fat would make a miserable man. To be fully shredded all year round you’d need to be training at least 6 days a week. Joints would be sore, diet would be strict and make you miserable and irritable with a low mood.

So no, you don’t need a 6 pack unless it’s a temporary thing like a competition.

Tbh when i was at my shredded stage it wasnt nice to live with day to day.

I train 6 days a week but eat what i want, eat a 5 pack of doughnuts a day, a bottle (sometimes a bottle and a half) of red wine a night. I maintain how i look in my pro pic abs wise.
