Put in the effort. Send a message.

We dont even look at them, just bulk delete.

Will usually just bulk deletes them without checking out their profiles, used to look but so many profiles hidden how the heck do we know if we want to message them lol

I've seen plenty of people saying they check the profile before reading the message and just delete if they don't like what they see, so taking the time on a message 'could' be wasted, where a simple wink to get attention might have done the job.

It's tricky though as it's also less personal and someone could just be winking everyone.

I'm a bit crap at small talk and if their profile is a little lacking in info, I find it easier to wink and leave the sending of an opening message to those that have something to talk about, or posted something interesting on the forum or status.

The wink is just one tool in our kit and can be useful, but also shouldn't be relied upon.

Some people ignore them but I can only assume that those are the people that also get a lot of random messages and connection requests from strangers
