When he loses he's Scottish but when he wins he's British. Just wish he had a humourous side, unless scoring a point by hitting a ball into your opponents crown jewels is funny of course. Got to be the shot of the tournament so far.

I want Federer to win cos if Murray wins the final he'll get Sports Personality of the Year and he ain't got a personality.

So the guy concentrates on his chosen sport to the extent he comes over as a non-personallity!! So what!!!

What about Steve Davis? Wasn't he accused of the exact same thing? (Until he quit playing and then people found he did have a sense of humour)!!

true, but look at their head to heads, 8-7 in murrays favour! And its ALWAYS been murrays psychological game thats done him in, not his performance!! Hence, thats why lidl is now on the coaching team, and its starting to show thru already!

YEs but in the slams his record is not so good against Federer. He is 0-3 in slam finals so far. Lendl was 0-4 and ended his career with 8 slam wins. Not Wimbledon though...

When people talk of his personality, maybe they should remember he went to school in Dunblane and he and his family knew the gunman. I'm no expert, but I'm guessing something like that may just make you a tad introverted.

I dont think he is an introvert, I do wonder though if that is what he is saying to himself when he wins and points to the sky that its for the wee ones who died in 1997

unfortunately i can see him being embarrased in the final, because the weight of expectation will be so great.

i personally wont be watching it.

not that i dont want to, but he was struggling tonight to close the game, while i watched, and only won once i turned over, so that will be the order of the day sunday (pathetic maybe).

and as for the scottish when he loses and british when he wins, thats bollox. he is always described as one or the other, no matter the results of his matches.

cmon TIM!!! lol

i want hime to win, dont give a feck about his 'personality'..

what a pile of dung, that 'he has not got one'...

maybe he should do a bit of stand up comedy in between games???

or go out and get slaughtered and slap his girlfriend like in the 'good old days' when 'personalities' were like the bloke next door...???

he is a tennis player, he plays tennis so thats enough surely seeing as he is at wimbledon??

and he may do that shot to the bollocks with federer like he did with songa...

And I do hope he wins whether he is British or Scottish.

Oh right enough, and david beckham won it for his sparkling personality and wit!!! Ffs, get a grip! You win it because of what you have achieved in your field of sport!!!

Very good comment the memories of that awful day will be with Andy Murray forever.

Whilst I am not a fan of Mr Murray I hope he has a great game.

the is no way he wins SPOTY in an Olympic year even if he wins Wimbledon.... in fact... if Bradley Wiggins wins the Tour de France he would get more votes.....

at the end of the day, win or lose, nobody can deny he is a good player.

on a previous thread some of the comments were ridiculous.

'loser'

'choker'

'never win anything of note'

'an also ran,

'not great'

'mediocre'

totla bollox all of them

now if he wins. and yes its a big 'if' as Fed is favourite, i shall be serving some lovely portions of humble pie..

it would be interesting to see how many of them will be big enough to come on and admit they were wrong.

it will be a tough match but pretty much everyone who actually knows what they are talking about, says he is capable of winning.

it will depend on whether he can overcome the nerves and maybe a bit of luck on key points.

its a very tight line and matches like this are often won and lost on nerve alone. he obviously has the ability so let us wish him luck and hope he plays to his best.

i am not saying he will win but i sincerely hope he does and if he does then he would be entitled to stick 2 fingers up to the detractors, and tell 'em to F**k off.

come on Andy....
