Obey.. ?

Interested to get your thoughts on this as I’ve got to produce a 1000 word essay on obedience for my psychology course. Who better to ask than a bunch of sexual deviants.

I'd imagine it's something to do with us being a tribal/herd animal. 1 human on its own is pretty fucking useless so being kicked out of the group is sure fire death. But with any group there will only be a small group of leaders and the rest will follow. Obviously some overall hierarchy in there as well.

So it may be a deep seated thing

Then again I might be completely wrong.

Some really interesting thoughts here. Do you think that someone in a uniform or some form of authority would be more likely to be obeyed than someone like a member of the public?

Do we obey simply because we’re told to or because we have moral obligation?

Addition to all of the above, I think someone will obey if:

1. they understand and to a certain extent, agree, (even if they do not admit it) to that particular instruction.

2. out of fear.

Part of our essay is to critically analyse it I’m going to mention the fact it’s now considerably outdated. Stanford one is another good social psychological experiment.

Obeying is so different from one culture to another. To say obey this in one culture is different in another. Social aspects and government control plays into that factor of control.

There is an expectation and a desire to fit in. For some they just never deviate away from those things. It's their comfort zone or their upbringing or their values.

As a child we are all exposed to good and bad which shapes our behaviour in adult hood.

Uniform is another example why we conform to obey. Police enforces law and order, doctors/nurses support and improve our health etc My favourite are air hostesses, they immediately catch my attention and anything they say i obey

as a child we are born an innocent our bodies and minds are pure and learning we only have a survival instinct .then our sub conscious minds are filled with wants and needs. By our parents society and stupidity then our innocence is gone
