I don't understand the need to panic buy, everyone just needs to shop as normal. My local supermarkets have been well stocked and people aren't panic buying, we have lived in an adapted way since march and so our local lockdowns and now full lockdown hasn't affected me in any way.

I don't get the need for panic buying. We all made it through lock down number one without starving. Also this time round kids are in school so will be being fed there which is different to first time round. It's just people losing their heads. Most of the country has been living under some form of restrictions I don't really see why yesterdays annoucement has come as shock.

People panic but because they're frightened, they have no control over this virus and having their cupboards full gives them a sense of security and control. Humans are hardwired to store against hard times.

We haven't bought much more than we normally do but over the last months we've made sure we have some reserves and that my parents have a good stock of basics.

Got to love those panic buyers... Clear the shelves & take all the delivery slots so it leaves others screwed. Clearly they didn't learn from the first lockdown it's not the end of the world

Yes I read your post about that.

The thing I've noticed during this pandemic is societies capacity for blaming other people, finger pointing and venting fear and frustration on other people.

Everyone selfish, lazy, spreading the virus and not wearing a mask...except me.

At a time like this a huge dose of understanding and compassion is required from everyone.

Buying extra food is hardly savage

Lol! U want work in a supermarket! U might think differently! X

Hopefully it will make some supermarket staff actually do some work rather than just stand very close to each other laughing and talking and ignoring customers needing their assistance.

That's very harsh.

I've only seen staff in retail shops working really hard.

And getting abused into bargain! I've not yet! But my 21 year old daughter works in tesco and has had so much in last lockdown and its started again yesterday got a scanner thrown at her as she was left an hour to do the self scan and scan and shop! X

Yes I read your post about that.

The thing I've noticed during this pandemic is societies capacity for blaming other people, finger pointing and venting fear and frustration on other people.

Everyone selfish, lazy, spreading the virus and not wearing a mask...except me.

At a time like this a huge dose of understanding and compassion is required from everyone."

Yes for sure! At the start of last time people were I found on the whole very respectful of each other then it all went down hill! I get people are frustrated like the woman yesterday her shop came up with a check which meant she has to wait which must have been annoying! But wasent lizzys fault ! She there today hope she is having a better day! X

"People panic but because they're frightened, they have no control over this virus and having their cupboards full gives them a sense of security and control. Humans are hardwired to store against hard times.

We haven't bought much more than we normally do but over the last months we've made sure we have some reserves and that my parents have a good stock of basics.

Exactly

Its not about selfishness, its about survival

Humans are animals. We are hardwired to survive and protect our own, just like other animals

Prefer to think we all thought of the wider community! Not just ourselves and ours! There just no need for it in this day and age we after all are not animals! Surely people can see the bigger picture?? X

I think you'll find we ARE animals

Sure but would like to think we could act like civilised animals rather than savage ones !! X

I hope she's having a better day too. I worked in retail when I was a college and later at weekends when the kids were small. Our daughter did too and some of my nieces and nephews. I always try to be nice in shops and if things are going badly polite in pointing it out.

"Because the general public are inherently stupid on the whole"

Let's not forget that is a group of which we are all members.

I haven't forgotten but I stand by it. They've already said supermarkets will remain open. People just don't listen & then you get idiotic behaviour.

I said some supermarket staff. Not all. And I’m talking from my personal experience.

My son used to work in a supermarket before he went to university so he thinks I’m harsh too.

Visiting Blackpool

Completely true - Just saw a Lady crossing the road by a supermarket carrying 3x 18 packs of toilet rolls and nothing else The newspapers yesterday reported there’s no shortage, millions are made every day. She was best to stock up though...you never know
