Cat thefts

Not the fluffy purry types, but the boxy thing underneath your car

Thefts are on the up and it's a pricey repair if you become a victim

We are talking in the late hundreds of pounds

Have you been a victim?

Have you taken precautions?

Have you had a cat lock fitted?

Do they work?

There's a crazy cat lady in my street, point the thieves my way as the dirty buggers poo in everyone's gardens and kill the birds

They are jacking cars up in broad daylight. It takes them about a minute with a power saw.

Look at the YouTube videos of them holding traffic up while they do it. This country gets more broken by the minute.

They did maintain social distancing mind, by threatening anyone who came near with a machete!

Toyota recommend a tilt alarm and a cat lock at £350

I've left mine parked against a wall

My cars a diesel, so fortunately not affected.

Feel sorry for those who have been affected by this, not a cheap fix, even if you're in the trade like me

"Do all cars have them? "

I think the laws changed in the 90's to get them fitted to most petrol cars and diesel sometime around 2000

"Do all cars have them? "

Catalytic convertors have been mainstream as already mentioned from the early 90s. All modern petrol cars have should them.

The reason why they are targeted and some idiots decide to steal them is because they contain a certain amount of platinum inside them. So they have a decent scrap value

What if I approached them with a screw driver instead ?

We fit bars around the cats making them more work than what it is.

Whilst it takes longer to get at them its time enough for them to get caught.

They are also sold on ebay or scrap yards as legit.
