Rarely am I personally touched and saddened by celebrity deaths but this is one of those occasions - by far the best Bond and so many other great films besides....The Man Who Would Be King, Highlander, The Hunt For Red October, A Bridge Too Far, The Longest Day and more

He played some great roles and delivered them splendidly..

I am not sure he was a great actor.. I put actors into two categories... There are actors who play a variety of roles and characters.. Tom Hanks in this category in my opinion..

There are then actors who pretty much play themselves..

In that category I put John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Big Arnie and Sean Connery...

I enjoy all off their films though ..

As mentioned further up it was definitely a classic - have it on DVD and dig it out every now and then

Find it sad that the thread has been derailed by unfounded allegations about him - allegations which he denied and insisted had been taken out of context if you actually look into them - but let's not derail the thread further by picking that apart...as has been made clear there is no place for domestic violence of any kind.

Regardless of that Mr Connery was a much loved actor whose many films stand testament to him and will be missed

To me he defined the role and the character in a way that's yet to be matched.

Having said that his bond is such an anachronism, that it's not really fair to compare modern Bond actors to him.

A true legend on and off the screen, and I hope it is the best of him that is remembered!

Yes he was a great actor, My parents bought me the well known Corgi made gold coloured aston martin sports car which was one of the most sought out toy cars in the 1960,s for young boys and perhaps older certainly now as a collectors Item Unused and still in its box (which mine was,nt)would be worth a lot of money now as would most toys like that associated with the arts but that little car was especially well made leaveing others in its shadow.

Picked up an original as new 261 bond aston in a box with paperwork and all the accessories for £10 in a charity shop about 5 years ago.

Mine got played with, crashed, jumped etc as toys should be so it might not be worth much (priceless to me)

I think the as new one might be worth £250 plus, maybe more now but it's a keeper
