At the minute, about a 4

Worries about the long term health of both my parents

Worries about work / job security

I stress eat so also put a few pounds on the last couple of months, which always affects me mentally

And... Just to top it off, a message last night telling me to self isolate for 9 days

Things aren't ideal, but I realise some people are affected much more badly by the current situation

I'm just having a self wallow / wobbly day

I have a auto immune response to shitty mental health where my body prompts me to have a wank by giving me a massive awkward boner

It keeps me above a 5 at all times and with outside factors i can hit a good 9 on sunny days lol

It is the Friday of a long and stressful week, I am down to probably 6 or 7. A good night sleep and a nice walk will bring me back to my usual 8 or 9.

I need a good vacation in a sunny place with a lot of sex to be fully recharged and reach a 10

What a total pose and a load of crap. How's your mental health? and when people say crap not one word of encouragement or concern or asking people how they are. So anyone struggling at the moment is e erything OK can I help at all and keep going, just being here is success. Christ this scenes gone downhill over the years.

Do you expect me to wave my magic wand and make everyone okay?

This is a place to chat. To discuss. To vent. Funnily enough, I have a one year old that I’m running after all day, on top of my own mental health, so I can’t constantly be on fab to reply to everyone.

I try my hardest. I do. And I bloody care. But thanks for that.

I’m retired and have got more into cycling and walking either on my own or with one particular friend (at a distance). The Spring and Summer were wonderful with plenty of days to get out and about. I’m still getting out for walks most days unless the rain and wind put me off.

Its certainly what it sounded like to me and the point I was making was you all wanna talk about mental health almost as a badge of honor but when someone says you know what yeah it's bad you totally ignore that person therefore creating more of the problem than there was. Over the years this scene has gone to pot it's more like Facebook for narcissistic people, the more young people that come into the scene a d I don't think they really understand it and can cause them problems. The scene used to give a shit about people and it was a friendly thing now a days just about the individual. And yes you cannot go onto a thread about mental health and talk about simple solution and not expect the subject to be suicide.

Well that’s now how I read it. And if you look there’s hundreds of mental health threads posted on here offering support. At one stage it was almost all there was! So I don’t think you can say people aren’t supportive on here at all.

I'll talk about mental health all day, my work is based around it for starters and is a close personal subject in my life also. I've spoken to quite a lot of people on here about mental health, but in private and not on the actual forums, so not really a badge of honour. I couldn't comment on fabs decline as you say, either way as have only been on here nearly a year. I'll maybe give you that, that my choice of words was maybe poor, but your first post did seem a bit shitty.

Mine's low ish at the moment. I'm in a lot of pain nowadays and although i love my job generally, the clients are great, it's such a physical job and I'm struggling plus one member of staff is a nightmare.

I have the offer of a new job which is exactly what i had been thinking of doing but it's a massive change and scary because of that, so my MH is low at the moment. I have family problems too aswell as health and covid scares me and would probably kill me so i'm struggling

"I’m yo-yoing between about a 7 and 3. There doesn’t seem to be an in between. I don’t have any close friends locally and miss the platonic friendship of other men. It’s amazing the difference a beer and a banter can make.

Maybe check out Calm (Campaign against living miserably). They're quite male-focused and have 'collectives' - groups for people to hangout, talk football etc.

Thank you. I wasn’t aware of them. "

They’re great. My husband found them really useful. I hope things improve, although I know it’s not as easy as that

I've been hovering around 3 for a few years now, since my mum passed away and all sorts of family fall out. Friends have helped, and I've actually had a lot of support from some of the very good people of Fab. I do feel though that society as a whole has been getting worse - a massive rise in intolerance fed by trump, brexit, hostile money controlled media, russia - it kind of feels like one step forwards but two steps backwards. I keep taking the tablets, waiting for sunnier days, hoping that there will be chances again for physical and emotional closeness with dear friends.

And from some of you who also post in the ‘be nice’ threads..... "

Agreed, seems 'be kind' only applies when it suits, not just on this thread but all over. Just a shame that someone came for support and got shot down I hope whoever that was is ok.

I rarely post or talk about my MH because everyone tries to counsel you, and also I can't stand false pretences or sentiments.

Not saying it happens but you often wonder at motives behind well wishing and sympathies sometimes, is it a genuine concern or a case of 'look at me being great' like I say, not saying that is the case, just my perception.

"What a total pose and a load of crap. How's your mental health? and when people say crap not one word of encouragement or concern or asking people how they are. So anyone struggling at the moment is e erything OK can I help at all and keep going, just being here is success. Christ this scenes gone downhill over the years.

Simple solution to that mate

Simple solution to most stuff dude, if you're implying what I think you're implying, wouldnt take much, maybe you're on the wrong forum post "mate"

Yes, I was implying just don't comment if you don't like the thread

Encouraging suicide on a thread about mental health wow you're a diamond geezer

That wasn’t what he was implying!

Typed out a long reply but...bye "

You said that to someone who mentioned suicide and was clearly not in a good place. Who was it?

I am not sure if that was the same person or not, I didn't see the the first post, only the angry one after mine. Further on I did say my first choice of words to him was probably a poor choice of phrase, wasn't arguing with him though. You did, and yes they were a very poor choice of words given the topic and open to much ambiguity, but the damage was done by that point.

Everyone posting on here has been/is clearly affected by mental health, me included, and what do you feel when someone ignores your plea? Depression certainly feeds on negativity imho.

Yes, I agree, damage was probably done by that point. And I do get that many people on forums/these threads suffer from some form of MH issues. Believe me, I know what can result in ignored pleas. I have already said two or three times now it was a poor choice of words, probably a bit flippant but cannot take it back.

Looks like you did exactly that so I wouldn't be too hard on yourself . Its only by reading back through the thread that you pick up his initial comment about being at level 1 which then puts some context into the conversation. I've been in a long term relationship with a person with severe mental health issues and spent massive amounts of time walking on eggshells. Its hard enough when you can look into their eyes never mind from a single digit on a chat forum.

They are the new buzzwords of the day - "mental health". I actually feel very sorry for those with genuine mental health issues. The rest are just trivialising a serious issue e.g. by putting on a bloody swinging forum "how's your mental health today?" Quite pathetic in my book.

Unfortunately people self diagnose or just feel a bit down for a week and declare that they suffer from depression when the rest of the time they are absolutely fine. Romanticising mental health issues is a seriously bad thing to do as it trivialises those that actually suffer from issue and makes people not take then seriously. I cant say how many times ive been circling the drain and you get responses like 'you just need to relax and cheer up'

I literally can’t reply to everyone or I’ll be spamming the thread. I’ve messaged people. I physically couldn’t message him, then I went offline. Came back on, had a not so nice message that I ignored. Then he was gone.

Wish I hadn’t bothered. I didn’t make this thread so I could solve everyone’s problems, counsel people on issues I have no idea about. It was a thread for people to talk to each other, join in, communicate.

I’m always here for a chat if anyone needs a chat, or just a rant. I’ve made that clear.

Wasn’t my intention at all to make anyone feel shit. Obviously.

Stop abusing people on the forum or you could end up with a ban

Can we remember the forum is for all not just the few, if people don't want to be friendly then they need to accept others will call them out on it, which a few people did.
