Name your top 3 (in any order) movie villains. It could be movies adapted from books, comics, plays etc.

Somewhere In The Ether…

Darth Vader, Dracula, Freddy Krueger to name three faves.

So many to list in fact though and not always the best known ones; I particularly loved John Malchovich as Cyrus The Virus in Con Air and Guy Pearce’s particularly hissable villain in The Count Of Monte Cristo.

And let’s not forget the late and very sadly missed Alan Rickman’s scene stealing performance in Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves - an absolutely dastardly villain

The Joker (Heath Ledger version), Hannibal Lecter and The Terminator from the top of my head.

Doctor Doom is my all time favourite comic villain and I'm still waiting for him to be adapted in a good way!

Somewhere In The Ether…

Another honourable mention to Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men portrayed so chillingly by Javier Bardem.

Oh - and the mighty Vernon Wells as Bennett in the Arnie classic, Commando

‘How’s your arm John?’

Kenneth Branagh as Heydrich in 'Conspiracy' is probably the best, but for others I'd go for:

The Jackal (Day of the Jackal)

Lex Luthor (played by Gene Hackman)

And Cunningham in 'Rob Roy'.

What a great thread! Straight off the bat I'd say HAL from 2001: Space Odyssey but the other two need some thought...
