Used to love “from the tiny ant, to the elephant”

Used to raise the roof when that one was chosen! Occasionally as students we would get to request a hymn and there was an unwritten rule that you choose this one. Tune.

It is. Coincidentally, the first time I watched that film I was on a coach travelling across America. It made the film even better.

We had to sing at Assembly every morning at primary and junior school and I quite liked the hymns.

Favourites were probably

The Lord is my Shepherd and Dare to be a Daniel.

I don't think you have to be religious to appreciate a good tune.

I’m not a Christian but lots Christmas hymns have musical roots in English folk music. I love the Holly and the Ivy. Kate Rusby does a song called “sweet bells” and that’s my Christmas tree music.

Onward christian soldiers was hymn number 66 in the green hymn books. How the hell can I remember that?!
