Is this any good?

Halfway through the first ep and not sure I like it so far, does it get better?

Also, is it scary? I'm generally not great with scary stuff but I do like a small adrenaline rush lol

I liked it. Not too scary, just a few parts make you jump.

I didn't find it gripped me the way that The Haunting of Hill House did, & certainly didn't find it as scary, but it was quite enjoyable.

The first few episodes aren’t too great on my opinion. But after that it gets brilliant as the story gets deeper and more intense.

Well worth watching

You will get the whole story in the last two episode, more like a mixture of love and strange story

I watched the haunting of bly manor before the haunting of hill house.

I enjoyed both, but preferred the haunting of hill house. It was a little weird seeing half a dozen of the same actors in each programme but you quickly get used to it.

I finished it. It was pretty good. The suspense was a lot scarier than the ghosts. It helps that I saw a "behind the scenes" 0ost

*post on buzzfeed where they showed the ghost actors in their rubber masks which took away a lot of the creepiness. I'm going to try Hill House now but I've heard that's a lot scarier so I'm a bit nervous haha

I finished it a little while ago and I loved it. I liked it better than hill house to be honest.

Its creepy, emotional, beautifully shot and the cast are great.

Give it a chance =)

So I watched Hill House in two days and slept with the lights on for both of them

The story was great, far superior than Bly Manor! I'm glad I watched them in the order I did or I think I would have been really disappointed. The storyline and drama made it worth it but I just don't enjoy being scared!!!

I finished it last night, it was pretty bad.

I mean it started well, the 1st 3 episodes were good. But then it kinda lost the plot, threw every cliché in the book at it and stretched it incredibly thin to get 9 episodes out of the story. The last 2 episodes were ridiculous. They should have tightened it up, cut out the pointless dross, like she slept, she woke, she walked it would have played a lot better in 5 maybe 6 episodes.

Hill House is genuinely unsettling. The funeral home episode when the camera constantly circles the actors is brilliant

I didn't mind the plot and the pacing (in fact the Viola episode helped make everything a lot less scary for me which was great) but I found a lot of the dialogue to be really cheesy and cringe - especially Owen's!

Yes I was constantly on edge. I basically watched the last two episodes from behind a blanket though

Yep, cringy dialogue and cheese grater accents. The narrator would drop and change accent mid sentence.

I'm halfway through Bly Manor - I'm a bit pathetic when it comes to Creepy things and I'm not sure if I'm enjoying it or not

I'm not sure I want to finish it

Managed to binge it all in one sitting. Probably not a good idea as it requires a lot of concentration througout. The pacing is slow and it jumps back and forth in time line. Hill House was a lot easier to digest and was more captivating. Personally, I found it a tough slog and the pay off at the end fell short.

"It was “perfectly splendid”"

I thought the children's acting was superb, far better than any of the adults in way of intensity and creepiness.

Absolutely, it was the children who made it creepy.
