Let's have a thread of easy to make food that doesn't take hours to make and uses normal ingredients that we might have rather than things like the berries from the Peruvian mountain bush that only has them for 2 days a year.

I'll definitely try those that take my fancy and hopefully it will give others a few ideas.

Sweet, savoury, snacks, meals it's all good

I'm going back to my childhood and starting with chocolate cornflake cakes

Mince and potatoes. Making it tonight for dinner. Just add carrots, onion and oxo cubes and you have a lovely meal and costs little to make.

My husband was a chef. So it’s really easy for me! Haha!

Although when he’s not around I grill chicken breasts, towards the end I put tomato sauce(the fresh kind, not the ketchup kind) and cheese on top. Serve with raw veggies, rice and wraps. Kids love it.

It's street food in India but with a little difference.

Its usually a chilli omelette in a paratha which is similar to a tortilla - and tomato ketchup

A friend made something called shaksuka (probably wrong name) and he used baked beans, onions, celery, peppers and kind of Poached eggs into it.

All in one pan so easy to clean and not much washing up.

Served it with warm crusty bread and it was proper comfort food.

Might do a google search

Duns

Meatball Marinara.

Peel and halve an onion, two cloves of garlic. Put in a pot with a tin of chopped tomatoes, seasoning and a little oregano and simmer for 45 mins.

Roast some meatballs, put them in the sauce and take the onion out, squish the garlic cloves against the side of the pot and stir it all together.

Serve with spaghetti.

Not fast, but it is fairly simple!
