Yes greg definitely knows his stuff and doesn't mince his words.

He always comes across as very honest and has a lot of first hand experience

Yes! I thought it would get annoying at first but then I went back and watched his older "what I eat in a day" and recipe style videos where he was much calmer and was really disappointed he wasn't yelling haha!

Yes this is what I like about him. He is very brash in his delivery but also understands people aren't perfect and dieting/weight loss is HARD. I used to watch Swolenormous but found that Papa Swolio could be really unnecessarily callous, even though what he says also makes sense.

I googled him - he seems annoying.

I'd rather count calories.

I've lost 2 stone since July with many fuck ups and just life happening around my diet.

Consistency is the way forward.

For me it is anyway.

Greg Doucette's diet is calorie counting or rather, how to get the most out of your calories.

Congrats on the 2 stone!!

I get what you mean, the thing is low carb was working really well for me but the hair loss became too much of an issue. So now trying to find something else that will work just as well. I can't do the "everything in moderation" thing because everything bloody triggers me. One square of choc will turn into the whole bar, one handful of crisps turns into the whole bag etc. So I think what works better and is easier/less stressful for me is just avoiding those foods altogether. Although not indefinitely lol I'm still human

I haven't tried his French toast yet as I haven't had any white bread in. Is it better than normal French toast? It's just French toast sans egg yolks, right?

I have been having wraps for dinner every day too but those protein wraps are bloody extortionate! As are all low carb replacements tbf which is why I never tried them on keto. So at the moment I am trying to stuff basically an entire salad into one regular ass tortilla wrap every night lol the struggle is real...

I've had a look at his dessert recipes (found a free version of the cookbook online ) but he puts bloody Jell-O mix in everything which I can't have because I'm veggie

Because you replace the carbs with healthy fats, so you still feel full on less calories than you would eat normally. You feel less hungry and don't need to snack as much; most people on keto only eat one or two meals a day.

The absence of carbs means you go into a state called ketosis where your body switches from using carbs to using fat for energy. So if you do it right and don't go over your fat macros your body basically burns its own fat stores for energy and the weight loss is insane.

It's a difficult diet to stick to, not gonna lie, but so worth it in terms of weight loss and killing sugar cravings.

Did you feel less hungry? Could you do something similar but with carbs (so not in ketosis) and no sugar?

My point being, I think keto is really bloody hard. So I think you should give yourself a lot of credit for sticking to it.

Yeah I felt way less hungry! Because I was using my own fat for energy so needed less food. I also did a lot of intermittent fasting so learnt to recognise real vs hormonal hunger which is still helping me now

So I'm eating more carbs now in terms of having added fruits and certain vegetables back into my diet. I still have a bit of fear around bread and potatoes etc, I have a tortilla wrap and porridge every day but other than that it's mainly veggies and meat replacements. According to my MFP I'm on around 130-150g carbs per day which is still quite low.

If you follow any very low calorie diet for an extended period of time your body will shed hair as it will give all the nutrients to supporting your main organs. Taking zinc helps a little and upping your protein intake and it will grow back. Usually happens between 3 and 5 months.

U do realise that carb per gram is 4 calories and fats are 9 calories a gram...carbs are not the enemy, there your friend...its all aboit caloric deficit if u are lookin to lose weight.

Keto doesnt work in the long run..u will feel miserable ..any diet/lifestyle where u try and cut out certain food choices is never good in the long run... try and eat a healthy balanced diet from all food groups.

Wraps, just get the lowest calorie wrsps in the shops, dont bother lookin gor thrm expensive ones...i replace the jelly o stuff with about 9-10g of angel delight mix for an extra treat....barely 15 calories...theres no rules...replace with what u feel like

"

May i add also....to retain as much muscle as possible you need to keep active and do some kind of resistance training....when u diet your body will eat away at your muscle as well as your fat stores, that way your body retains more muscle mass and in turn means your bodies metabolism will be more effeciant and in a healthier state....not by replacing or taking out a food group entirely...eating more fat in your diet than carbs means smaller portions for a start...fats healthy or not(obviously you need fats in your diet)are dense foods....you can go OTT and eat alot of calories in no time....looking a snack....eat an apple...sonething like 60 calories.a handful of nuts can be 2-3 times that easy and woildnt fill you..you need alot of fibre to be sastiated and full...protein helps here too..fruit is one of the best things u can put in your body...fruit and veg full of all sorts of vitamins and nutrients that your body craves and needs..good luck folks

"Yes. I am also watching him and subscribed to him, he is very funny and covers many things from training to nutrition. I like it how he is commenting on videos that does spues lies for views lol and also his catch phrases like train and diet harder than the last time, another one is "it is zero percent chance and it is 2020 you can be whatever you want, a circle or a square lol, he uploads many videos a week, more than 7 videos

Yes Shag! I think the fact he is so funny makes what he says stick in my head more You are right there and yes he is also very funny

You should check out mattdoesfitness he doesn't give much diet and nutrition advice which is what I am mostly interested in but he does lots of videos with his young son which are really cute and funny. Yes I also watch matt and his son is fun too. I like the new gym he have build in the garden, you are right, he doesnt cover nutrition so much, few others that I follow that are also good is nick wright and thomas maw, thomas lives in the same area as me as well which is fun, he covers alot of training and nutrition and the other utuber is called paul rivera, he also talks alot about fitness and nutrition and as well answers questions that the users have, it is fun

Ah thank you, will check those out I'm also looking for more female influencers if you know any That is good you will check them out and as well looking for more influencers, yes I will let you know here too if I can think of more for you "

His wife is now also on utube called all about ally. I also like when he sais, what you need to know, not what you want to hear as there are so much misinformation in the fitness industry

Once I got past him sounding like the parrot from Aladdin then I started enjoying his content. Simon Miller is like a English version. Very helpful

I love Simon Miller! I think he's more wholesome than Coach Greg and still offers very good advice
