Recently all I have seen on here are comments taking threads totally out of context, people derailing threads, people feeling the need to justify their threads or posts, people feeling uncomfortable to express an honest opinion for fear of being bullied or ridiculed for it.... yet many other silly non sensical threads carry on untouched.

The forum has always been a wonderful mixed bag of content with people being silly, serious, sharing unhappy moments, sharing happy moments, flirty, sexual, sporty and so much more.

Ffs people, some use this channel to escape from the realities of life they have going on in the real world. Let's us not take that away.

Can we please bring some positivity, inclusivity and kindness back to a corner of the forum.

So I am not going to sit back and wait for a change of mood in this place, I am going to help by creating threads every now and again on topics I enjoy participating in and I hope it encourages others to feel that they too can participate or start their own threads and let's bring back some fun.

True, though to have such strong feelings like fear and anxiety over it is totally OTT in my opinion.

It’s words on a screen not something to invest in emotionally I’d say.

There and to the left a bit

Much as it's an admirable sentiment OP unfortunately I can't see anything will change - because you always will get people who are deliberately contentious, always will get those that take offence at the slightest thing, always will get those that take a differing opinion as a sleight somehow and more.

Unfortunately you can't please all of the people all of the time - I have been called everything from forum wise man to a bully in my time here as proof of that - all you can do is just be true to yourself and try and rise above the rubbish as much as you can.

But I'm all for more interesting and inclusive threads where you don't feel like an intruder on a private party

I do think theres a lot of overly serious stuff on here. We come in to escape the bullshit of the world as it is now. That's us though. So mostly we just skim or skip the bitching and whining.

Dont get me wrong, theres a place for everything and people have a right to voice whatever opinions they have, whether it be a moan or a question that's been asked a thousand times before.

But like I said, they're easy enough to spot, without even entering the post or the ensuing affray. So isnt a particular issue for us.

Agreed and wholeheartedly seconding the final sentiment. Not everyone wants to be happy/flirty/positive all the time and that's fair enough, I'd rather people post honestly than with a clearly false voice. In a similar vein, if you want to use this fora for escapism, crack on. I don't think people nitpicking/being a twat is okay but I also don't think trying to make it, as CJ so eloquently put it, a "saccharine echo chamber" is good either.

Anyway, I'm all for inclusivity and encouraging the wealth of varying topics and posters and moods so well said OP.

I have to be fake nice to people when I’m working.

I don’t want to be fake nice here

I like the threads that do bring colour to the forums rather than the dull, grey ones. It’s good to see the fire in people.

Debates/arguments are good because it makes me see both sides of a topic.

I like those too. I can disagree with someone's opinion but still respect them as a person. I usually agree with them on other subjects.
