Thereabouts

I was wondering if any of you have ever been snubbed or blocked by someone on here but when you met them on a different platform or in person through other means (e.g. club) and you got on amazingly well with them?

What's your story?

Been snubbed by many even been blocked and not met or sent them a message

Don’t mind being blocked for a reason

Fair enough

It’s costs nothing to be polite

A reply saying thank you but no thank you

That’s enough

That’s fab for you folks

Carry on and hope for the best

London

I think the BS response is "not my type" after much messaging and exchange of pics. Blocking often follows..

Yes when I first joined fab I had a profile for about 2 3 weeks that wasnt very good which I deleted and started again but I messaged a woman who blocked me without reply then when I rejoined and changed things up she actually messaged me and we met it was very pleasant but I never mentioned that she blocked me at first lol

Kettering

I changed my user name for fab so anyone who knew me from another site might not know me. I have been blocked on here lots most I have never ever spoken to but one I know of blocked me cos I didn't send her a message quick enough.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking that sometimes first judgement is not the best...

I’ve chatted to people at socials and clubs who have told me they have messaged me and I’ve not replied. I often mass delete so explains it.

Face to face is always a better way to interact

I met and played with a lovely looking guy at chams one night. Afterwards when we where chatting he laughed and said he had messaged me a few times on here and id always ignore him. Another time i met and played with the most perfect gentleman at a club after when we where chatting he asked if i was on fab. When he gave me his usernsme it was a guy (long gone now) that used the forum and i thought was a twat

on the road to nowhere in particular

Both ways, knocked back online and got on great when we met and vice versa, good rapport on line but no chemistry when we met up.

Hahaha that's what I mean. Sometimes, people have off days or have a bad online personality but could be awesome in real life

Yeah, physical meets trumps online personality.

There and to the left a bit

But that is ultimately the difference between on-line and in person interaction for you - on-line all you have to go on is the text you are presented with and it's not always easy to make a judgement call, especially when you don't have the context of facial expressions and demeanour to guide you.

And more especially if you have to make a snap judgement where you've not been able to get to know a personality on-line over time.

It's one reason I have pretty much exclusively met forumites, because you can build a picture of their character by seeing how they interact there too.

That said it *can* work both ways round - there are people here who present a sweetness and light facade, who when I've met them, or got to know them better over time on-line are quite the opposite of what they present

I agree on building the picture from interactions...
